"Deliciously sinful! The Devil's Deal is twisty and sexy and leaves you on a gasp worthy ending. Great start to a new series!" (Laurelin Paige, NYT best-selling author)

I'm Everett "Rett" Ramses.

New Orleans is my world, my realm, and my domain. After what I've done, some people say I'm the devil. I say I'm a man who knows what he wants, and nothing stops me from getting what I desire.

I took New Orleans, and now I want Emma O'Brien. As the daughter of my father's rival and sworn enemy, her fate is to be my wife.

Emma is in my world now. It's time she makes a deal with the devil.

Have you been Aleatha'd?

Awesome and unique story!!!!

This story is unique and fascinating!! Well worth your credit, your time, and your attention! Follow these well written characters as they journey through a beautiful, one of a kind, city and all it’s mysteries. A fantastic story that had me intrigued from the short prequel. Be sure and get that prequel before reading nook 1. Now on the the final book!!!

Loved that this was from both POV's.

This was an excellent dark romance but it isn't finished yet, since it's a duet! Looking forward to listening to book two to get the rest of Everett and Emma's story.

New Orleans Comes to Life

After having read this duet on kindle I decided I needed to hear their voices. So worth listening to Rhett and Emma come to life.

Loved It!!!

I loved the ominous feel of New Orleans and that page after page wondering what was going to happen next! The Queen of romantic mystery suspense amps things up in this book. I cannot figure out what or who is good or evil or is evil good/good evil.

Romig is such a gifted writer. Character development is excellent and the story unfolds brilliantly as it plays out. One twist after another and then the explosive cliffhanger.

I can’t wait for more of Rett and Emma in Angel’ Promise and discover all the sordid secrets.

Narration was excellent!!!!

Kind of underwhelmed

I am a devout fan of Ms Romig's work! But I feel a bit underwhelmed by this one. I just kept waiting for all the twists and turns that I'm used to with her books. I think if this was my first read of hers, I would have probably loved it, for the book that it is. But, with the knowledge of how great she can write, as I said, underwhelmed.

Drawn out and Luke warm

Since I felt that her Tangled Web Trilogy was lackluster, I was anxiously waiting for Devil’s Deal but suffered more disappointment. It took an entire book to describe 2-3 major, but predictable, events and at the end, I was in no way dying to read (or pay for) the next installment. It was almost a single person narration as very few chapters were read by the male POV who, I felt, lacked conviction and power in his tone. After writing the Consequences and Fidelity (my favorite series EVER) sets, I’m left seriously wanting by Ms. Romig.

Disappointed

A man with a deep voice was desperately needed to read the part of the male. This readers voice was totally wrong for that part and it was a distraction. It's a good book but I found it hard to enjoy it because of the voice used for the male most of the time. Y'all just wrong for that..... 🙉😭

Holy Hell!! Just Who is the Devil?

The last few chapters of “Devil’s Deal” are so full of foreboding that the reader just KNOWS something big, something unexpected, is about to happen. We’re not sure who, what, or how, but we know it’s coming.

And then Bam! Althea Romig hits us in the head with her book, revealing lies, truths, and omissions from every person in the female MC’s (Emma) circle.

Every character — dead and alive! — has a reason to manipulate/coerce/hurt/kill Emma for their own ends. After all, Emma is the unlikely key to several mobster groups’ attempts to consolidate power in New Orleans. In particular, the reader has to question the motives of her gorgeous and seductive kidnapper, Everett, who wants to push her down the aisle just a bit too quickly.

Althea Romig always writes a crisp, detailed story with superb character development and slowly-building suspense. Devil’s Deal is another home run for her! Borrow the $ if you have to in order to get this one, ladies and gentlemen!

Set in New Orleans

I absolutely enjoyed this book. It is set in New Orleans and was pretty accurate in the majority details about the city. Both of the characters are strong and the story has several twist that you don't see coming. It kept me very entertained and guessing what would happen next. It is a duet so to fully enjoy the story you will need and want to reach the second half of the story.
