Angsty, sweet and amazing!

I’m a huge fan of the “Wicked” series and I’m so excited that Annie and Tyler are next up. “A Love Song for Liars” is an angst filled story that is just bursting at potential between Annie and Tyler.

This is just the start of their love story and I’m loving the angst between them. It’s pure and sweet but the potential for it to be so much more is just laying underneath the service. I loved Annie’s drive and determination to be more than just a rockstar’s daughter and wanting to be her own person. Tyler was a favorite of mine from the Wicked series and he’s going to be a heartthrob for sure. I can’t wait to start the next book.

Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro are amazing as Tyler and Annie. You can never go wrong listening to Teddy as he delivers an angst filled performance. Rose was the perfect choice for Annie and did an amazing job with portraying everything Annie was feeling.

Great series

This is a well written trilogy. I have to admit that I am almost finished with book 2. The narration is excellent, especially Teddy Hamilton. My only complaint is that each book is only about 6 hours, but still worth a credit.

Get ready for all the emotions!

If I thought that the book was filled with angst and emotions…then the audiobook left me rocked! So many roiling emotions! That’s the thing with Piper Lawson’s stories…you’re going to FEEL. Gut wrenching, heart pounding, anxious…all of it!
I fell in love with Annie and Tyler all over again! They have so much against them, but I can’t help but root for them!
While the narrators were both good, Rose Dioro was superb! She embodied Annie so perfectly!

The Rockstar’s Daughter and Her Rebel Prince #bookoneloveandbrokenhesrted

This audiobook is the dual voices by Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro, making for an excellent performance! Their readings conveyed emotions that brought the words written by Piper Lawson alive. Piper Lawson beautifully wrote this story about a young girl falling for her friend she met in Philadelphia. At the time, her dad, a retired rock star and future stepmom Haley, ran a tour bus scouting for disadvantaged teens who had exceptional talent. Later, Tyler lived in the family pool house and attended her same private academy. Tyler and Annie is attracted to each other, but Annie's dad does not want Tyler to acknowledge his feelings to Annie. There are mean girls, bullying, being hurt, and betrayal, all found within the covers of this book. It does end on a cliffhanger, but the good news is you can immediately go read and listen to the next book in this four-book Love Song series! Each book will blow you away! Now I need to listen to book 2, Love Song for Rebels. Piper Lawson knows how to weave an incredible story that lives on in your mind long after you close the last page!

Good Storyline

I like how it still includes the original characters from the first series but doesn't involve them too heavily.

frustratingly heartbreaking

I listened to this on Audible. love the narration. The depth of Annie and Tylers feelings at such a young age are compelling. The opsticles that are in their way are insane. I really liked Jax and Hailly in the previous connected wicked series. But I think he is fast becomming a selfish father that his agenda is the only one to be had. I am crossing my fingers on a Tyler and Annie reunion in the next book. This is a great read.

Living Up To The Hype!!🤩

I looked forward to Annie and Tyler’s story and so far it’s living up to the hype!! Tyler’s bad boy persona is exactly what you’d expect of a prep school teenager, but you know what they say, everything is not as it seems! However, Annie’s ability to forgive Tyler’s slights and actions are too easily accepted!! And that Carly chick is a demon seed!!😡 I also take exception with Annie’s father because although his actions are meant to be protective, they are a hindrance to her and somewhat neglectful being that he’s not around when it really counts. Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro were fantastic narrators. The only complaint is that Teddy Hamilton doesn’t narrate as often, especially when there is ample opportunity to do so. Most of the story is narrated by Rose Dioro who does a great job but for me the male parts would be better done by Teddy!! Overall, the story meets the mark for a bully romance.

What a start!

This is the first of four books about Tyler and Annie's journey and oh what a ride! Tyler and Annie's first book is set during their high school years as they discover they are the person that completes each other.

Ms. Lawson has weaved an amazing story of angst and heartache that leaves you begging for more. I can't wait for the second book! I can't wait for more heartbreak!

The narrators did a great job with this story. I was absolutely riveted!

These two will have your heart aching

Annie and Tyler have my heart aching terribly for them. If you have enjoyed this author's Wicked series, these characters will be known to you. If you have not, that is just fine because this series stands on its own beautifully. I loved this book so much. To start it is well written and nicely paced. The engaging storyline quickly captivates you and has you fiercely invested with its compelling blend of intense emotions, drama, angst, what seems like constantly increasing tension, sweetness, simmering chemistry, poignancy, twists, and some big questions that will have you desperate for answers and yet scared of what the answers might be. At first look, you are inclined to think that Tyler and Annie are polar opposites of each other. However, once you get to know them and get a much clearer picture, you truly begin to realize the similarities that they share, and you are left wondering whether those similarities will be their ruination or their ultimate saving grace. Love & family each play a huge role in this book and just like in real life, they are dual-edged swords that can be a blessing, a curse or even both at the same time. The author skillfully uses that in this book and also heavily foreshadows that there is plenty more to come on that front in future books in this series. Just in case you are not aware, this YA/NA read does end on a cliffhanger as this is only the first of the three books in the trilogy. So be prepared for that cliffy. I loved the narration on this book. The performances were stellar and the voices pleasing to listen to. The fact that dual narration was offered was a nice bonus for me because it is my favorite.

A Love Song for Liars (Rivals #1)

OVERALL REVIEW & RATING: 4.5 STARS
I am super stoked to find out more about Tyler & Annie!
If you haven’t picked up the prequel, Love Notes, I recommend you do so before you begin this journey. You’ll figure out quick, like I did, that it’s necessary to the story :)

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & RATING: 5 STARS
I really enjoy Rose Dioro’s narration, especially when she narrates a younger lead. Her voice is perfect for young/new adult! She did a really great job with Annie’s character! I also loved Teddy Hamilton’s narration. They both did really well together!

STORY REVIEW & RATING: 4 STARS
This is just the beginning of Taylor & Annie. I emphasize just because their story is a trilogy (well, really 4 books if you consider the bonus book lol) so they have a whole lot of drama to navigate before we even begin to believe and/or root for them, in my opinion. I love them both already, but I know there’s going to be major drama coming my way in the books to come and I am here for it all!

There’s a lot of circumstances that unfold in this book, but none of them are the romance journey. There’s a lot of growing that both Annie & Tyler have to do, and this book lays the foundation to that. Yes, we know where these two are headed but we don’t know the how or the why or anything really LOL Honestly guys, this is like the least romance book I’ve read in a good while but it’s perfect!! Don’t get me wrong, these two have chemistry and there’s some sexy sweet moments and fire kisses buuuuuuuuut we have a ways to go before we get sexy sexy *wink*

I’m not usually one to look forward to reading such young characters, but Piper Lawson has sucked me into this world and I can’t wait to move forward with this journey. This is my first experience reading her and I’ve already downloaded a few of her other books!
