What Can a London Opera Star and an Escaped Dartmoor Prisoner Have in Common?

Opera star Maggie Lee escapes her opulent lifestyle when threatened by a powerful politician who aims to ruin her life. She runs off to the wilds of the moors to live in anonymity. All that changes the day she discovers a half-dead man near her house. Escaped convict Oliver Ward is on the run to prove his innocence, until he gets hurt and is taken in by Maggie. He discovers some jewels in her possession - the very same jewels that got him convicted. Together they hatch a plan to return the jewels, clearing Oliver’s name and hopefully maintaining Maggie’s anonymity.

Captivating characters

An enjoyable listen. Narration is top notch. Griep is a fine Storyteller. Looking for another book by her.

The House at the End of the Moor

I did finish this book, also by Michelle Griep. A different Narrator that was some different. Pearl Hewett. Do recommend this one, a very different story for sure. Mystery and suspense taking us to the Moors which I have always loved to have described, as never having been to England. Will look for my third book by this author. Each one has been different.

Captivating in Every Way!

The action and suspense kept me at the edge if my seat. The romance was heart-melting. The spiritual lessons were subtle yet deep. Pearl Hewitt has a lovely voice, and she did so well with characterizing her voice - especially for the villians of the story. Michelle Griep certainly has a lovely manner of writing. Well done!

I love this author!

She has some of the best descriptive writing I have ever heard! Several times, while listening to this book, I would rewind just to hear the description of an old man or the evil villain! So entertaining. The story is very good as well. I will be disappointed when I have finished reading all of her books. I gave the story five stars however, it is not allowing me to check the fifth star above.

Author should stick to evangelical, Christian audience

The author draws in an unsuspecting reader only to gradually increase the proselytizing and preaching for her faith. Maybe there's more money in attempting to make it with a general audience but if she can't call herself what she is (an evangelist), she shouldn't waste our time with her deceit. She just doesn't shut up about how wonderful her god is in this book.
