Publisher's summary

A necklace delivered to the wrong Allison: me. I'm the wrong Allison.

That misplaced gift places a man in my path. A man who instantly consumes me and leads me down a path of dark secrets and intense passion.

Dash Black is a famous, best-selling author, but also a man born into wealth and power. He owns everything around him, every room he enters. He owns me the moment I meet him. He seduces me oh so easily and reveals another side of myself I dared not expose. Until him. Until this intense, wonderful, tormented man shows me another way to live and love. I melt when he kisses me. I shiver when he touches me. And I like when he's in control, especially when I thought I'd never allow anyone that much power over me ever again.

We are two broken people who are somehow whole when we are together, but those secrets - his, and yes, I have mine as well - threaten to shatter all that is right and make it wrong.

What If I Never is the first book in the Necklace Trilogy.

Contains mature themes.

Mystery and romance

Necklace mis-delivery and mistaken identity starts a mystery and potential romance. Somewhat convoluted with a cliffhanger. So so narration.

Guess I missed the train

I'm a little confused as to all the great reviews, I am almost through book 2 (I only continued bc I had bought it before starting book 1 bc of a sale) and there is hardly any plot, just the promise of things we might learn. To me that means I have now pushed through the first two books to get either a sloppy or an incomplete ending. Even if it turns and becomes amazing, a great ending does not save a bad story. The romance is good but is stretched out along with everything else, I don't even really know that much about the characters and I connected more with their romance then with them, though it feels more like lust than love, since they don't know anything about each other. I would not reread this and to me that makes it a waste.

Great Start to the Trilogy!

I normally read Lisa Renee Jones' books when they are first released but unfortunately or maybe fortunately that wasn't possible this time so I waited until all three books were released and did a binge read of the trilogy and oh man I am so glad I did!

What if I Never? starts off with Allison Wright, aka Allie, receiving a necklace that belongs to a different Allison W. so she goes looking for her to return it only to find that the woman has left her job and no one knows where she is or if she will return. Of course this sparks curiosity in Allie and she finds herself embedding herself into Allison's life.

Dash Black is a former FBI agent turned bestselling Author, he uses his past experiences as an agent to enhance his stories and he is doing a great job at it because now there are movie and TV deals in the works for his books. Dash and Allie are working together on a Charity Auction for a charity that is near and dear to his heart but their time isn't only spent working on the auction...😉 Let's just say they have great chemistry together both inside and outside of the bedroom.

This story is filled with twists and turns and some super hot scenes, it also left us with a cliffhanger which is why I was thankful that I decided to binge read the series because I can dive right into the next book. I listened to What If I Never on audiobook and thought Grace Grant did a fabulous job with bringing this story to life.

If you enjoy Steamy Romantic Suspense reads that will have you so engrossed you won't realize hours have passed since you picked up the book then I would definitely recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!

Great story!

Great story but the narrator was not! I hope book number 2 has a different narrator, otherwise, the book was great.

Romance/Suspense

Allison is pulled in to the mystery of what happened to Allison W from the Hawk Law offices when she accidentally receives an expensive gift. When she tries to return it she is suddenly offered her job and then her apartment. What else will she be taking that belongs to Allison and where is Allison W? I love Lisa Renee Jones' writing. She keeps you captivated and wanting more. Now if off to purchase Book 2 of The Necklace Trilogy.

Unnecessary cliff hanger

The story is ok, as is the performance but I dislike authors that resort to unnecessary “cliff hangers” just to sell more audio books
