Publisher's summary

Even with a degree in psychology and a keen ability to read people, security specialist Bree Graves can’t seem to get a bead on her boss. There was a time she thought she had him figured out but she’d been wrong. Still, she loves her job with PASS, and her team has become her family. However, she doesn’t realize how much she needs them until her latest assignment puts her on the radar of a dangerous stalker.

For Yanis Mazur the safety of his PASS team is paramount. Even if that means sacrificing his personal life. Not only did he spend years building his security firm, but also the shield protecting his emotions. Yet when the one person who could breach his walls goes missing during an assignment he sent her on, he’s willing to risk both his business and his heart to get her back.

A victim of obsession, betrayal, and violence, Bree has no choice but to put her faith in the man who almost broke her.

A Long Time In Coming 2nd Chance Romance

I had heard about people having long separations and coming back together. At first I was thinking, "Really?". After thinking about it, Yanis and Bree weren't " together" together, but they were together almost every day during that time.

I did appreciate the togetherness of the PASS gang and their significant others. It did give that overall family feeling. I was kind of sad that this was the last book in the series.

The connections to the crimes were a little convoluted to me at first, but I chalk that up to me continually being interrupted while trying to listen (LOL) instead of it being an issue with the book. I thought the narration was well done, and kept me engaged as much as the story.

I liked that Bree was self sufficient. Even when she was afraid, she kept thinking of ways to save herself. Yanis seemed to spend a lit of time with his foot in his mouth. Yet, they did work well together.

These books are so interconnected that when I finish one, I either end up wanting to re-read about a character that I remember from another book, or, I want to search for the book that a character new to me may have in another series. It's always a journey, and I am here for it.

Fabulous second chance adventure

This is a wonderful second chance story with an added web of finely weaved suspense to keep you on your toes. We have been waiting for Yanis and Bree for a while and for series readers knowing there was so much more to their story. For new readers, I am certain you can love the couple just the same as Ms Barker does a great back story to help you know where you are. I bet you will be going back to read the other though.

Bree is a strong stubborn heroine who can totally hold her own, little package an all that. But seriously she wouldn't be part of the team if she couldn't. I hate that her past pushes her to try and keep herself distanced from everyone else, not letting people get close. Not letting herself have those friendships to help her get through. I know she felt she couldn't share her thoughts and feelings with the PASS ladies but I was glad to see her find her tribe and get back the love she deserved.

Yanis hides well behind his gruff and grumpy exterior and I get it the boss has to keep some distance between him and his staff, he has to keep things in perspective. But I think he could have used a good smack up the back of the head a couple times. When he decided he wants to go for something, he gives his all, even if it means groveling a little bit. I lived the softer side of him that we get to see when he is with Bree. Looking in, watching him learn to explain his emotions is kinda cute for the big lug.

Will Bree and Yanis be able to hash out the past that they have both held as a blocking wall for way to long? Could there be a chance for them not that some of the main structure boards are no longer standing in their way? Or will they let the hurts of the past keep holding them back?

I have really enjoyed the PASS Series and the wonderful family of characters. The narrative does a wonderful job bring these characters to life.
