Publisher's summary

It’s a good thing Gabe Bristow lives and breathes the Navy SEAL credo, “the only easy day was yesterday”, because today, his life is unrecognizable. When his prestigious career comes to a crashing halt, he’s left with a bum leg and few prospects for employment that don’t include a desk.

That is, until he’s offered the chance to command a private hostage-rescue team and free a wealthy American businessman from Colombian paramilitary rebels. It seems like a good deal - until he meets his new team: a drunk Cajun linguist, a boy-genius CIA threat analyst, an FBI negotiator with mob ties, a cowboy medic, and an EOD expert as volatile as the bombs he defuses. Oh, and who could forget the sexy, frustratingly impulsive Audrey Van Amee? She’s determined to help rescue her brother - or drive Gabe crazy. Whichever comes first.

As the death toll rises, Gabe’s team of delinquents must figure out how to work together long enough to save the day. Or, at least, not get themselves killed. Because Gabe’s finally found something worth living for, and God help him if he can’t bring her brother back alive.

🌻why does the Heroine have to be so stupid?🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

The storyline definitely had some predictable moments but, I enjoyed most of the interesting characters; except the Heroine! She was an artist with a free spirit but, did she have to be too stupid to live? Why must authors constantly create female characters as weak? It has annoyed me for years. Out of the two main female characters, one is a plastic faced gold digger and the other lacks common sense and a survival instincts. There is no way a former Navy seal would be attracted to a woman, like that.

This book was included with my audible membership, however, the rest of the series is not. I want to know what will happen with the colorful members, of the team, however, I have my doubts that the credits it would cost to continue, would be worth it. Maybe I’ll wait for sale!

WTH?

I didn’t find anything romantic about this . A was more determined to get G in bed than she was about finding her brother and G , to be a Navy Seal was a punk ass. He let her call the shots and they ended up needing to be rescued. The only time she cried is when she thought G was going to die not one tear for her brother.
I couldn’t finish it the title was misleading and I seriously didn’t get it. Too much happening too fast.

Boring.

Made it 4 chapters. Didn’t care for any of the characters and the plot put me to sleep. Didn’t like the narration either.

Boring

I got through to Chapter 6 and had to give up. First book I've ever just stopped listening to. I literally daydreamed through half of what I heard.

The dumbest thing I ever read

Really. No kidding. The dumbest thing ever! A soul sucking waste of time. I wish I had my brain cells back.

ok!

A very well written storyline, well fleshed out characters., and great set up for each guy's story in this series. I can see this appealing to the "more plot than romance" audience altho there IS a romance. but if you are looking for steamy sex, you need to look elsewhere.

DNF- the narrator killed it for me

Sorry to the author but the narrator was so terrible that after two tries I couldn’t stand it anymore.

Very disappointed

When I read the overview; the 1st book sounded good, but that's where the excitement ended. I liked the male characters and different personalities, but the female lead made this book go down the drain. She made G, a navy seal, look like a total ass and that is a slap in the face to the Seals. I get that this is suppose to be an erotic book, but really fingering her in the jungle while being kidnapped, having sex at the terrorist house. So horrible 😞. The FL reason was to find her brother, but the whole time she is flirting w G and wanting to have sex w him the whole time. One of the scenes that made me want to throw my phone is when the FL said she wanted to talk to the terrorists who was holding guns instead of fighting. I don't think I will be reading any more books, but I do hope the story and FL is better written.
