Publisher's summary

Step one: Kiss Cal again. Just one more kiss.
Step two: Kiss someone else to compare.
Step three: Permanently close the door on Cal Chase.

Once again I bang on the connecting door to my dorm room, trying to be heard over the blaring music coming from the other side. My bestie should be living in that room, but no, she transferred to be with her boyfriend and now I'm stuck sharing a wall with stupidly hot track star, Cal Chase. My friends say I'm lucky, but his mere presence annoys me, along with his late-night music and the constant gaggle of giggly girls who visit. I'm the only one who can see right through that patented Cal Charm. He's just another player and I'm not game.

So, why the hell did I let him give me an out-of-this-world kiss under the stars the other night? It had to be the magic of the meteor shower. I cant actually like him, right? I simply need to prove Cals stellar kiss was a fluke, and I know how to do it and in just three steps.

Should be easy, right?

Yeah, famous last words.

One Kiss is All It Takes

Enemies to lovers plots are almost always fun to read, and this one is no exception. I love the way Cal is persistent without being stalker creepy and the way manages to stick to her stubborn, "I hate this guy" vibe, long after most women would have given in to the attraction between the too. Their chemistry makes for a fun story - all the way to their HEA ending.
In case you can't tell, I liked this one.

Lovely!

It's 4am and April Harris and her friends are  going to the Leonid Meteor Shower. She's not particularly excited for one reason and it's because of an unwelcome person in their midst. It's Cal Chase, her annoyingly perfect jock-for-a-neighbor. She's lying to herself to say that she's not attracted to him, but it will be a cold day in you-know-where before she'll admit to it. It's bad enough that she shares a connecting door with him, she has to hear everything that goes on in his room. Cal and April end up watching the night sky under the same blanket with the chill of the evening pushing them together.  They share a kiss and it's game on! Describing the kiss as "meh," Cal knows that she's going to be a hard nut to crack. They are so much fun to listen to as they get to know each other better and I found myself laughing at both of them, wondering who was going to win each round. When there's a problem with a key and the lock comes off the door between them, it's witty, cute, parts are a little sad but it's all so lovely. This is a story you should read when you want something to put you in a good mood. Hollie Jackson does a tremendous job with the narration. Her intonation, pace and emotion are perfect for both male and female characters.

Not Just a Chase

This is cute college romance with a trace of drama and a bite of heat. I like how this unraveled between dorm neighbors April and Cal. The push and pull is adorable. There are a couple of playful scenes that were very entertaining and sometimes sweet.

Hollie Jackson is the narrator. She's a fine narrator but her voice didn't match what I envisioned twenty-one year-old April to sound like.

One of the best new adult romances I've heard

Summary –

A meteor shower leads April to share an electrifying kiss with her annoying neighbor, Cal, yet all she craves is one more kiss. April wraps her comforter around her and follows her friends outside, in the middle of the night mind you, to watch a meteor shower. Her next-door neighbor and totally hot college track star, Cal, tags along. Oh goodie. Insert sarcasm here. His mere presence unnerves her, especially when she shares her warm comforter with him. Trading barbs is what she does with Cal but this time, it leads to a sizzling kiss. No one has ever kissed her like that, and it causes her perfect little life to unravel. All she can think about is Cal’s kiss and how she wants him to do it again and again. But he’s a total player, or is he? When he sets the record straight, April decides she needs to test a new theory. Will she discover a kiss is just a kiss or is it Cal’s kisses that melt her heart?

Narrator’s overall voice –

Hollie Jackson has an expressive voice with a great personality to it. She takes each character and creates the perfect voice for them. She annotates college-aged kids with ease. Thanks to Hollie, I got caught up in the story and listened to it in one sitting.

Does the narrator fit the characters?

Yes, she does. As I mentioned above, it takes talent to narrate for a college-aged audience. I loved the sparring between Cal and April.

Narrator’s reading style –

Hollie’s reading style is effortless, and I found it easy to get caught up in the story. I swear Hollie sounds just like I did when I was in college. Well done.

Narrator’s impact on reading experience –

Her interpretation of Tara September’s story is excellent, and I found myself laughing at April’s inner turmoil. Hollie even sighs as April does in the story. The way Hollie expresses the romantic tension between Cal and April is wonderful.

Narrator’s pacing –

The pacing is well done with plenty of romantic tension so the reader can follow along without getting lost.

Audiobook flow –

The audiobook flowed from start to finish with the right balance of humor, romance, and enemies-to-romance drama. I didn’t want to stop reading/listening.

What makes this audiobook unique –

I’m a huge new adult/college romance reader and this audiobook is one of the best audiobooks I’ve heard. It’s also short so it can be read in less than three hours.

Would I recommend this audiobook –

YES! I would recommend this to any reader looking for an enemies-to-lovers romance. Highly recommend!

Dorm Mates

I enjoy Tara's stories. This story started a little slow, but it is worth continuing. April lives in the firm, with a connecting room to Cal (door is locked) She overhears Cal constantly: music and giggling girlfriends. I wouldn't Cal them enemies, but they are not friends in the beginning. It is a cute and sometimes funny story on how their relationship develops. Storyline is good Characters are well developed. I enjoyed the narrator voices.

Short and sassy

This is a fun quick listen. I kinda wish we had Cal’s POV but it’s a sweet little story with good narration.

the kiss

April doesn't like Cal. But holy cow - can he kiss!!! This is part of a sweet but steamy multi-author series, and it's a real "I can't put this book down" book. April and Cal have to get over their preconceived notions about each other. Their conversations are amusing, and their chemistry is off the charts. I read this book last year, and recently had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version. It's narrated by Hollie Jackson, who sounds a bit older than a college student, but still did a fine job of narration. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sexy and Sweet!

This is the ninth novella in the Love at First Kiss, an interconnected multi-author college romance series. April and Cal's enemies-to-lovers romance is fast-paced, fun, sexy, romantic, and sweet. I liked the banter, and the humor. This is a cute new adult romance. I enjoyed it. Hollie Jackson did a good job with the narration.

Cute!

One More Kiss is a cute enemies to lovers story. It’s a short one, so perfect for an afternoon break. I really loved April and Cal together. And I definitely liked the epilogue!
