Publisher's summary

My first love ended in tragedy.

My second began with his brother.

From Wall Street Journal best seller Parker S. Huntington comes a broken love story laced with angst and forbidden romance.

I wasn’t supposed to be on that roof on Valentine’s Day.

Neither was Kellan Marchetti, the school’s designated freak.

We met on the verge of ending our lives.

Somehow, the tattered strings of our tragedies tangled and tightened into an unlikely bond.

We decided not to take the plunge and agreed to check on each other every Valentine’s Day until school ended.

Same time.

One roof.

Two restless souls.

We kept our promise for three years.

On the fourth, Kellan made a decision, and I was left to deal with the consequences.

Just when I thought our story ended, another one began.

They say all love stories look the same and taste different.

Mine was venomous, disgraceful, and written in scarlet scars.

My name is Charlotte Richards, but you can call me Venom.

Tragic

Great story. Long to get to a predictable ending, but couple of good twists, and couple times , it slayed me. All in all, a great read.

What a great novel is made of

Wow! I did not expect this novel to suck me in the way it did. I did expect this perfect narration from Ava Erickson, Sebastian York, and Jacob Morgan and it went above expectation. I was sucked into this story in a way that made me forget I was listening to narrators because they truly became Charlie, Tate and Kellen for me.
This novel is written in a way that brings the deep content to life. She is a new author for me and now I have every intention to listen to all of Parker Huntingtons work.

Great story with depth

This was a great read and of course the best narrators in the biz. Read this one if you’re into romance but not into multiple mini heart attacks from all the love/hate whiplash some books mighty give you.

What a great story! Completely surprised!!

This was one of the best stories I have listened to. The emotion and struggles of life is so true whether you want to admit it or not. Relationships are hard. The disfunction, the broken heart, dealing with a life you didn’t ask for but had the strength to continue and how forgiveness is the great healer in relationships and our hearts. At first I thought it would be depressing to listen to, but it drew me in and turned out to be beautiful in the end. I am glad I had the opportunity to listen. Each day that goes by I often think of the characters. Read or listen to it. You will not regret it.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

“I wanted to be seen and for once I felt like I deserved to be.”

One moment, one decision, it can change the path of your life. What would you do differently if you knew the outcome of that one decision?

“Opportunity lasts a moment. Regret lasts a lifetime.”

Charlotte knows loss. She knows pain and she knows the heavy weight of regret.
She also knows the feeling of feeling invisible and wishing to end it all.
When she meets Kellan Marchetti, the last thing she expects is to become the one on the other end of those feelings; determined to save him from himself.
A promise between two people; strangers. Opposites to the outside world, yet so similar where it really matters.
Kellan and Charlotte make a pact to meet on Valentine’s Day every year from their freshman year through their Senior year of high school. But one decision changes the path they were meant to take and suddenly Charlotte finds herself trying to face her demons alone again.

Fast forward four years and Charlotte comes face to face with Tate Marchetti, Kellan’s older brother and the man who has haunted her thoughts for years. Little does she know, everything she thought she knew about Tate Marchetti may just be entirely wrong.

Tate is definitely an a-hole but he’s tried to do things the right way and always ends up burned in the end. From his addict father who always needs one more chance to his younger brother who haunts his every waking moment, Tate’s spiraling out of control. When the feisty, strong-willed, spitfire Charlotte comes barreling into his office, for the first time in years, Tate finally has a spark ignited that he believes long since had been burnt out.

Charlotte challenges Tate at every turn but in return, they find they share something they can only feel with one another. The comfort of healing, the missing pieces to the night that changed their lives forever and the possibility of love.

This was an absolutely heartbreaking, emotional, angst-filled love story that had me captivated from beginning to end. I can’t imagine the tragedy that these characters faced and the pain they had to endure but I admired the way Parker S. Huntington tells their story with so much passion and heart.

“Darling Venom. That’s the map. The apology. The plan.”

These characters come full circle and there story hits all the feels!
Definitely recommend

Narrators were PHENOMENAL!!!
I felt like I was in the story. They literally had so much passion and emotion.

Speechless!

Oh Wow! This book is phenomenal!
First, if you are triggered by suicide this book may not be for you. Personally, it made me think and be more empathetic.
The story: Such a unique and well done plot!
The characters were so well developed that I felt like I was right there with them, feeling their feelings. So I cried, several times, I got turned on, I got angry, I felt the guilt, and then I felt resolved and happy.
It was a slow burn, but the story would have been so wrong if it hadn’t been.
Performance: Perfect! Ava Erickson has the perfect cadence and inflection! Jacob Morgan: such a sexy voice! Sebastian York: also sexy in that whiskey and cigar way. All 3 are vocal chameleons, doing justice to both genders.

I can’t say enough about this book, so I guess I’m not speechless! Will listen to again and again! Going to look for more books by Parker S. Huntington right now!
Definitely work that click!

Brilliant!

This book is next level! It’s funny, heart-clenching, and brilliant. I had to stop listening several times to write down quotes. It is so good. I will be purchasing the hard copy to highlight. This is one that will always stay with me. I will listen again. No need to say how great the narration is. Jacob Morgan is the best Kellan. Thank you Parker S. Huntington for this masterpiece. I just wish Darling Venom was real to read. I loved Kellan’s words and wit.
