Publisher's summary

Breanna Perry had a relatively simple life before the night she almost died.

She went to work. Okay, she worked at San Quentin as a psychiatrist. She had a nice apartment. Okay, it was a studio in San Francisco that cost a fortune. She had romance. Okay, she had an ex-husband, and a love interest who gave her conflicting messages. And she had her family.

But all that changed when Cormac O’Shea walked into her ICU room and asked her one question: Do you want to live? Since then, Breanna’s life has been turned upside down.

At least Cassius Teran was there for her. Cassius, with his brooding personality and strange abilities; Cassius, who stood beside her when Clyde Barrow tried to blow up the BART station. But since her relationship with Derek Thorpe has progressed, Cassius has removed himself from her life.

Now Breanna has to face a future knowing that all those she loves are going to die before her. She also has to learn how to control her growing power. Until Lachlan MacGregor enters the picture and paints a future where she could have the power to do ultimate good for humanity.

It’s a seductive thought, but as Lord Acton said, “Power tends to corrupt; but absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Can Breanna resist the temptation to change the world?

Accepting the way things are...

Breanna’s life will never be the same, but can she accept that? Can she help to make sure others aren’t put into the same position?

I’m loving this series by ML Hamilton! Her characters are so real... I feel like I know them, and I genuinely care about what happens to them.

My favorite narrator is back at it. Kelley Hazen does a phenomenal job of portraying each of the characters. She chooses voices that really fit with the personalities. I’m in awe of the sheer number of different voices and accents she can do, flawlessly.

Great Read

The Moon Walker (The Moonlight Trilogy Book 2) was a good read by M.L. Hamilton. The night Breanna almost died, changed everything in her life. While she was in the ICU, Cormac O'shea came in and turned her life upside down. At least she had Cassius, he had strange abilities and understands what she's going through. Unfortunately he removed himself from her life with her relationship with Derek. She now faces the fact that she will out live everyone important to her. I really enjoyed this book and cant wait to read more by the author. I really enjoyed listening to Kelley Hazen's narrations and the life she brought to the characters.

Good and entertaining

Let me start with saying that I liked the book quite a lot; Ms Hamilton is a great writer, able to catch your attention and keep you glued to the pages all night long. And it is true about this book as well - when you start, it'll be difficult for you to take a break. But what is also true is that if you're looking for a fast-paced asventure full of twists and turns, this is not what you'll get in this installment. This part is mainly about Breanna coming to terms with what she has become, trying to tackle a "normal" relationship with Derek and finally understanding that she isn't normal any more and that her life can't be normal either.... And that is excellently done:)
I decided on 4 stars instead of 5 just because I still don't quite like Breanna - she can be irritating with her denials; she's a psychiatrist, acclaimed in her profession, and yet she acts like a child who thinks problems will vanish if they close their eyes... That's the only minus of the book for me:)

Narration by Ms Hazen is great, as usual. She does voices really well, Breanna's irritating personality especially just shines through her voice. The pace of her reading is also good, and so clear that even if you speed it up a bit, you still don't miss anything. A fantastic interpretation of the book.

A Great Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it extremely entertaining. The second book is as good as the first. Life is still in chaos as Breanna and Cassius as they try and adjust to their new world and help Breanna's rival deal with being "magiced". The characters are even more interesting in the second book as their personalities develop. This series has something for everyone, suspense, drama, mystery, humour and a touch of romance. This combination of author and narrator creates pure enjoyment.

2nd of Series

I’m really enjoying this series but highly recommend you read/listen to 1st book to get the full effect. I like the characters especially Breanna and Cassius who had been given special powers by Cormac when they were near death and they will outlive their family. They are trying to understand their situation and have used them to help save people and now meet Lachlan who wants to teach them about their powers and how to use them. Cannot wait for next book. plot is clever and interesting

This is the first time I've given M.L. Hamilton less than a 5. The story line is so good but so much time and character development in books 2 and 3 are around stereotypical female hysteria, tears, anger and inability to reason. Framing the heroine as someone who can't manage her professional or personal life was a conflict for me. I found myself both irritated and wanting to continue the books to see the resolution. Kelly Hazen is such a good narrator, truly my favorite. She put the authors intended drama into her reading. My personal preference would have been to tone down the intensity every time 'Breanna" screeched in anger or her sister yelled in demanding condescension. Still i truly enjoyed the plot line and wished it could have been developed with more strength and reason in the main character.
