Brilliant book
Really interesting listen. 100% changed my perspective on race and identity.
This book has also given me a better understanding on the difficulties faced by people in society.
The passion and lived experience of the author really came across. very well read and presented.

Emotional. Recommend it to people of all ethnicities
excellent storytelling, exploration and narration. Finished this in about 3 days. In some parts of the book I felt very heard and it was very emotional as someone mixed myself. I would have appreciated more diversity of mixed Asian people however I understand the author was not mixed Asian herself and she is more likely going to interview people with a more similar background to her.
Very insightful and I recommend to all people who are mono racial to learn about the mixed race experience.
Only downside is as a mixed person I have become introduced about the negative attitudes and thoughts people have about me or my family/ or other mixed people that I wasn't aware of, which has now become apart of my daily thought process unfortunately.

The book I've always needed
Devoured this in 2 days. Really affirming and comforting, so many parallels to my life and the stories contained.
The mixed race story is a rarely told one and I needed this!

Mixed
Natalie discusses many issues about being mixed. She seems quite obsessed that being mixed with a white person is very important. But she does also point out Different mixtures like Asian and African. She explored some interesting ideas

an important listen
A really good discussion on mixed backgrounds and the differences in our stories, I found this very helpful to listen to as a mixed race person. I will be recommending it to non-mixed people too as the author explains a lot of the issues we face very well, through her own experiences and interviews with others from a broad range of backgrounds. Rare to find a book that mixed individuals can relate so much to! Also the narration is clear and easy to listen to.
