the first book was better

I struggled to finish this as it was a prequel to the first book, and spends most of its time with Adrian and Lia whining about their misconceptions of each other. It was like watching high schoolers who can only think of themselves rather than imagine another's POV. There are very few hints about the underlying plot and unfortunately you have to reach the end for the biggest one. I started skipping entire chapters because the sex was a bit too SM for my tastes - Lia is truly hurt in the bedroom although she loves it. Yes, I understand broken people and their kinks is a common theme, it's just not my thing.

The performance was great and production is seamless.

obsessed, however...

ok so I'm super obsessed with this trilogy bought the second book as soon as I got a notification that it was released and Binged it.

Here's the thing... imagine how much of the issues between them could be resolved if they just clarified their actions. you know like actually talked.
Also, Leah gets on my nerves sometimes. he literally tells her she has a target on her back and it's in one ear out the other and she focuses on the wrong thing. I've heard about selective hearing, but come on that one is a little much.
I still recommend this trilogy though.

if you want to skip it....

you can skip it if you want . it's all backstory. sorry not sorry. wished a reviewer had told me. it's still a 5 star performance and still has spice. but I'm irked that nothing is resolved nada nothing. and I am starting to hate the Female Mc. pshh she's annoying and a hypocrite.

Really?

I’m near the end of Book 2, and couldn’t wait to say, that I REALLY DISLIKE LEAH. She is the stupidest, bratty, spoiled psycho, and deserves all the bad that comes her way. Geez, idiot woman get a grip.

So very good

I am loving this trilogy written by Rina Kent. I still have trouble feeling Adrian and Rai's connection except occasionally. But this storyline has me entranced. What I thought I knew from book one, just throw it out the window. We go back to the beginning and get what is actually going on. Brilliant! There are still unanswered questions from book one and two. I cannot wait to get the answers and to watch the romance completely blossom.

Jason Clarke and Desire֎ Ketchum are excellent narrators. I love their voices. They are perfect for the characters. I feel like I'm watching a movie.

prequel that fills in the blanks

I loved it. it added to the love and suspense from book one. the cliffhanger ending is good and some of the story just irritates the anxiety out of you. their love and passion is interesting and hot but also sad and frustrating but keeps you hooked!

Oh Adrain, be still my heart!

I will try hard not to give to many spoilers but I may slip up, so be warned. At the end of book one, you have the Winter/Leah bomb dropped, leaving you going what just happened. With this book, you get the background on Adrian and Leah. Where is all began. Why she felt like she did when we first met her in Ry's book. I hate to say this, but she is my LEAST favorite female leads in Rinas books. She is selfish and no matter how hard Adrian tried to show how he felt, she shunned him. I know he "forced" their relationship, but she was very in to him. So why after 5 years she is still fighting it really baffles me. She is the one who keeps damaging them and their progress and she wonders why Adrian is distant?! Seriously?! I just can't. I wanted to claw her eyes out. Even with all her antics, I still loved the book. Adrian is fierce and protective. He wants it to work. But now his life is in even more danger, because of her! UGH. By then end of book two it comes full circle back to the beginning of book one, but there are only more questions. I am now more confused on what to think. Going to book 3 right now, I HAVE TO KNOW! I listened to the audio and it was perfection!

Twisted

Rina gives us a perfectly twisted book 2 with Adrian and Winter’s story. It is such a mindfk that leaves us needing the next book ASAP!! The narrators did awesome! So dirty and depraved! Love it all!!
