Summary
From the Sunday Times and Richard & Judy Book Club best-selling author comes a thrilling, suspenseful tale that will leave you breathless.
You come to the retreat to be healed. You don’t expect to die.
Two years ago, Fran’s sister, Jenna, disappeared on a wellness retreat in Gozo that went terribly wrong.
Tom Wade, the now infamous man behind Soul Shrink Retreats, has just been released from prison after serving his sentence for the deaths of two people. But he has never let on what happened to the third victim: Jenna.
Determined to find out the truth, Fran books herself onto his upcoming retreat—the first since his release—and finds herself face-to-face with the man who might hold the key to her sister’s disappearance. The only question is, will she escape the retreat alive? Or does someone out there want Jenna’s secrets to stay hidden?
The master of suspense is back. Prepare yourself for the latest heart-in-mouth roller-coaster ride from the Sunday Times best seller.
Critic reviews
"An absolute belter of a novel." (Elizabeth Haynes)
"A sensational novel!" (Gillian Mcallister)
"Another twisty-turny and unputdownable read from the queen of psychological thrillers. Her Last Holiday is a chillingly plausible tale of why you should never, ever go on a wellness retreat." (Susi Holliday)

Another great book by CL Taylor
I devour books and I seem to have read a lot of psychological thrillers lately which all share a similar theme; Charming but ultimately abusive husband gaslighting wife type thing.
It was great to read something different and unexpected.

Unbelievable
wooden empty characters, it was a soul less story. I couldn't warm to any of them. The story was not believable. The narrators voice was fast, clipped and breathless, even on normal speed. I really wish I had not bothered.

Dull! Don't bother
I gave up on this with 5 hours of audio time left. A really dull and painfully slow story with a narrator who couldn't have sounded less bored if she'd tried

another enjoyable one
while I didn't enjoy this one as much as The Guilty Couple, mainly because the different names confused sometimes, I found it compelling. I enjoyed its little twists and turns, some anticipated most not. It was and interesting concept. felt the narration was also enjoyable.

Good but not brilliant
I enjoy CL Taylor books but this one didn’t quite have it all for me. The story was a bit flaky and didn’t have the twists that her previous books have had

unecessary drawn out ending
despite many things, I enjoyed listening to this story and galloped through it. I needed to know what happened and was gripped. however, every character was odd and unrelatable, the cult-like retreat VERY odd, the rediculous family dynamics of Fran and her kin unbelievable. the resolution was satisfactory, but the end got a bit daft.
still, couldn't put it down and I enjoyed this story very much. pure escapism into a daft wee tale.

Great
Very gripping story and really well read by Clare Corbett. This is my 3rd audio book from CL Taylor having listened to TheFear and Strangers and she is one of my favourite authors.
