Summary

A deadly virus - and a desperate race against time.

One spring morning in New York City a 17-year-old student wakes up feeling vaguely ill. Hours later she is having violent seizures, blood is pouring out of her nose and she begins to attack her own body in the most hideous way imaginable.

Soon, other gruesome deaths of a similar nature have been discovered, and the autopsies reveal that a previously unknown virus is at large. It replicates horribly fast, it is always fatal - and is just too efficient to be entirely natural.

When the Centre for Disease Control sends a forensic pathologist to investigate, her discoveries precipitate a national crisis.

The Cobra Event is a dramatic, heart-stopping thriller of an all-too-real threat.

The reading style is poor.

The stop start of the narrator is infuriating, I couldn't get past the first chapter.

Great book that changed the USA

This was the work of fiction, that caused government to establish a national stockpile system.

Great fiction work packed with information about biological terrorism. You will learn a lot while taking an exciting ride.

If you are not detail oriented or interested in learning about the subject, skip it. It's more than just an action adventure.

very disturbing virus

The story topic taught me alot about how virus's are cultured and used against other countries. The autopsy descriptions were harrowing but necessary for the story. if your squeamish, I would not recommend this story. Jeff Harding was great as the narrator. I enjoyed the story and will re-listen to it again.

Terrible narration

Narrated as if every single sentence was read in total isolation. No emotion, no context, no pacing, just sentence by sentence - couldn't finish the first chapter.
