Loved the story

This is the second Elizabeth Goddard book I’ve listened to and found it just as fascinating as the first, so looking forward to hearing more of her stories, loved the characters and theme and had to listen to the end, fantastic

Edge of your seat suspense!

This is my first book by Elizabeth Goddard and won’t be my last! From the very first, the book starts off with a bang. From there, it’s one suspenseful situation after another. Set in the beautiful Alaskan wilderness, a small town sheriff tries to prove her mettle to the town council. But, when a handsome stranger shows up in town and the body count begins to rise, she has to decide whether she can trust him or if he’s to blame.

Autumn and Grier have great chemistry and work well together. Grier is a mystery though and we don’t get to fully understand his reasons for hiding in Alaska until near the end. As they go through one suspenseful situation after another, they grow close together, but his secrets always stand between them. Autumn is a fabulous, strong character who is good at her job. While there’s a definite attraction between the two, neither one wants to get too close because of the secrets between them.

The mystery kept me on the edge with car chases and foot chases through the wilderness, a mysterious guy following Autumn and shooting at her father, and not knowing who to trust. It’s a definite page turner. Because we don’t learn Grier’s identity until near the end, the story was a little hard for me to get a handle on.

The audiobook was well done. I enjoyed the female narrator and the way she distinguished all the characters. I did miss having a male narrator to narrate the male characters, but it was still very enjoyable.

Highly recommend if you enjoy edge of your seat suspense with a touch of romance and faith.

Good narration

I thought that the narrator did a good job. There were multiple characters in the story and multiple voices are hard to do. The story was pretty good although we found out who the villain was well before the end. The drama was in seeing how things would play out. I liked the characters although the race part read like an angsty teenage novel. I liked that the book was clean without profane language and graphic sex scenes. Overall good entertainment on a long drive

Good Storyline

While the storyline was great, the main character was a bit annoying. I’m not sure if it was due to the gravely voice of the narrator or the way Elizabeth Goddard portrayed her, but I found myself finishing the book just to see how it all played out. I usually really like books by Elizabeth Goddard, but the way she slowly strung out details seemed to make the story drag a bit and made it hard to finish. I do plan to try the next book in the series but I am really hoping for a different narrator.
