Publisher's summary

A friends-to-lovers small-town romance from Amber Kelly.…

When I returned to Poplar Falls six years ago, I’d given up on love.

I’d made the mistake of marrying the sexy rebel right out of high school. He’d ended up in jail. I’d ended up pregnant. With a baby on the way, I decided to give up my wild, impulsive ways. All I wanted was a family and to watch my sweet son grow up, happy and healthy.

Then Myer Wilson keeps showing up in my life—and my son’s life.

He’s the hometown football hero who blew out his ankle his junior year and ended his career. I didn’t look twice at hot jocks in high school. But now that he’s taken over his family’s ranch, I can’t help but look even when I swore off men for good.

But maybe he’ll finally be the one to help me let go of the past and find my second chance at love. Or maybe my past will come back to haunt me.

Another book that packs the feels in all the right ways added to this series!

Meyer was everything I love in a Hero who steps up for a single mom and stands in as a father figure for her kids. I love that even when Dallas couldn’t see her worth he always did. He showed up for them both like it was ingrained in his being that they were his even if they weren’t labeled that way.

One of the best single mom books I’ve read in a while because these three are just **checs kisses** together.

Loved Every Minute

I was interested in Dallas from Rustic Hearts and what her story would be. I am really happy she got her own book!

I knew Dallas would make a perfect match with Myer... I mean how could he not be everything she needs?? But when you have a past that comes back to haunt you...

These characters are great and their story is even better!!

I listened to the audio and the narrators did a wonderful job bringing this story to life.

Loved this small town romance.

I have been so in love with small town romances lately and, Amber Kelly knocks it out the park with this small town, single mom, friends to lovers story. Loved the storyline, depth, and narration in this book and audiobook. The narrators did an excellent job with character development and switching of characters. Kept me engaged. The plot twists, sleep over parties, horse rides, camping, and picnics and Batman references were just perfect. This story of course has love, loss, angsty moments, and some domestic abuse history. I loved how Myer was always there for Dallas and supported her and her child through some of the most difficult times in her life. He is so swoon worthy and such a gentleman. And, little Beau he was smartest, sweetest, most respectful child, loved his character. This was the perfect read, so light and full of love.

Great series

Can I just say how much I love Chris Brinkley!!! His voice is so soothing and just makes you fall in love with the character he narrates!! Loved this story so much. It didn’t have as much heat as the first book. This one was mostly behind scenes but I still enjoyed the story. How her brothers best friend was playing the long game till her heart was healed before he made his move!! Loved the little boy too!! Such a cutie!! Now onto the next book!!

Dallas and Myer

Stone Hearts is book 2 in the Popular Falls Series - It could be read/listened to as a standalone but I really feel like reading book 1 is necessary as the characters and storylines flow over some.

Stone Hearts, was a fun and enjoyable listen featuring Dallas and Myer! Dallas is a single mama to 6-year-old Beau and has worked hard to provide a good life for her and her son. Myer is not only Dallas' friend, but her brother, Payne's best friend. This friends-to-lovers book was a bit of a slow burn but I loved how Myer did not rush things and just wanted Dallas to fully trust and need him. Beau was such an adorable 6 yr old and he melted my heart a few times! His connection and relationship with Myer made my heart happy! There was a touch of drama but nothing too bad and something I definitely saw coming. Overall, a great listen and a series I would recommend!

Narrators, Chris Brinkly and Heather Firth performed flawlessly and really had me in the story!

Very good story

I’ve read this book once before, when I very first started up reading again. So I remember bits and pieces but it’s really a great second read in a series. Meyer has the sweetest personality which made this story even better. The narrators were awesome The one thing I loved about listening to the male narrator is, you can tell when there was something in the story that was happy you just know that he was smiling as he was reading it as well. I don’t know if that makes sense, but it does to me. Great read, so I highly suggest you start from number one and definitely go to number two because you will love it. I’m off to number three.

One of my favorite small town romances!

This small town/brother’s best friend/single momma romance was the sweetest! I’ve been wanting to read more by Amber Kelly and I’m so glad I picked this one up.

Dallas and Myer have known each other a long time, but always as friends. When Dallas was young she went a little wild and married the high school bad boy and had a baby. Her ex is now in jail and she’s been back home for a bit, and has calmed her ways. She has the most adorable little boy and is focused on him and making a life for them.

Myer helps run his family’s ranch after a football injury took him out of the game in college. He’s content where he’s at and he’s got it bad for Dallas. I loved watching Dallas realize this and how patient Myer was with her. Beau was the sweetest little boy and I adored his relationship with Myer.

Overall this book was a lot of fun and heartwarming. The narrators (Heather Firth & Chris Brinkley) did a truly fantastic job bringing Dallas and Myer to life!

The potential was there

This book definitely had the potential to be great. Ill start with what I liked. I really liked Myer. He was a beautiful soul but not without flaws. I loved his devotion to Dallas and Beau. I like Dallas as well she was a bit insecure and made self deprecating comments but not so much where you start to think this girl is fishing for complements. She knows how to have fun and overall shes a strong character. The Narration was great Chris was absolutely fantastic. Heather was great too but the way she said any word with “OUT” or “AG” threw me off a bit. You’ll understand if you listen to it.
Now for what I didn’t like. There was a lot of character building which isn’t a bad thing except there was so much character building it ended up becoming filler and loosing the plot a bit. There were legit full chapters that didn’t exactly add to the story and seemed like unless filler so it got to be pretty boring at times. I would have liked more or at least a more detailed sex scene but thats just my preference and doesn’t actually effect my rating. I’m just throwing this in for anyone thats wondering it’s more rated M then rated R so beware of that. I probably won’t listen to this again and had I know I wouldn’t have bought it but I’m not really upset that I did.
