Nailing biting stuff
I’ve been waiting ages for this book to come out. I finally get Alina and Alexei’s story. I now understand why Alina is the way she is. This is a wonderful book. The tension builds with every word, every chapter. By the end of the book I’m on the edge of my seat. My heart aches for Alina and everything that she goes through in this book. I can’t wait to read the next book to find out how Alexei is going to redeem himself.

ok
if you read this before nikoli story I guess it gives you the run down but I wanted more straight away as I kinda knew what was happening. I preferred his story as I find Alina a tragic for a mafia girl but it was OK

Mostly enjoyed it
Great story and fantastic narration but the repeated mention of headaches was really tiresome. After the, what felt like, 50th headache description I nearly gave up. It felt like ‘padding’ and didn’t really add much to the story. If Alina didn’t get headaches this audio book would be two hours shorter!!

Story is incomplete 3 or more books
I bought this book thinking it was a complete story, only to find out that there’s a 3rd book in the making. The 2nd book also ends on a cliffhanger. Every book seems to be part of 3-4 book series. Can’t authors write one book with a complete story? Frustrating as I never buy incomplete series.
This story does one chapter on the past and then one chapter in the present and the whole book continues in this manner.
I won’t continue this series

Really disappointing
Firstly, this had a terrible ending in which he basically forced/raped her. I also found it extremely frustrating when the story kept going back every other chapter to :- Eleven years ago, then six years ago, then six months ago, etc. etc. This is a pet hate of mine. In my opinion it spoils the flow of the story.
In fact, the only positive thing about this book were the narrators, who were absolutely brilliant.

Failure to Launch
Alina and Alexei story feels like it’s being re-narrated from the first duet, Is Anna intended to write a continuation from this? There was a lot of recap from the first two books. There was no character development of Alexei. In my opinion there was nothing new apart from understanding Alina s migraine.
