Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

London. Early morning, June 2019: on the foreshore of the river Thames, a bag of bones is discovered. Human bones.

DCI Samuel Owusu is called to the scene and quickly sends the bag for forensic examination. The bones are those of a young woman, killed by a blow to the head many years ago.

Also inside the bag is a trail of clues, in particular the seeds of a rare tree which lead DCI Owusu back to a mansion in Chelsea where, nearly 30 years previously, three people lay dead in a kitchen, and a baby waited upstairs for someone to pick her up.

The clues point forward too to a brother and sister in Chicago searching for the only person who can make sense of their pasts.

Four deaths. An unsolved mystery. A family whose secrets can't stay buried for ever....

Prepare to be hooked.

The sequel to million-copy best-seller The Family Upstairs.

Great Follow Up!

I absolutely loved the first book and have really enjoyed this follow up, I especially liked the character ‘Rebecca’ and finding out more about Lucy’s ex husband. Helped to answer questions left by the first book. Would definitely recommend!

Well worth the wait

Waited patiently for this second book to be released. Absolutely loved it and as good as, if not better, than first book. Love this author, I’ve got no more of her books to read now….waiting for next one to be written

Thoroughly enjoyable sequel.

Loved the first book, this follow up was so good. The characters are well defined, particularly liked Rachel Gold's storyline. And the narration was superb. Every single narrator nailed it! Samuel's voice was mesmerising. Excellent. Would love another one!

Fantastic and gripping follow up

I rarely write reviews but this was too awesome' not to do so. Thus audible had me gripped from beginning to end ... which was two days as I was hooked! Loved the continuation of characters and the new characters and threads from the previous book.

Did not disappoint

Another fantastic Lisa jewel - her story’s never disappoint. Just love the story of the lamb children and loved the new story line running alongside of Rachel….and an absolutely perfect ending xx

Another jewel by Jewell!

I loved this, the different stories that came together, the characters (with different voices, all excellent) and the way it carried on the Family Upstairs story which was so extraordinary to begin with.
