Publisher's summary

Long live the King.

Growing up as the oldest Kingston sibling, I knew what was expected of me.
King Corp. was my legacy, and my siblings were my responsibility.

The world was ours for the taking. For the living.

But I neglected to live it for myself...until her.

Daphne Brenner wasn’t meant to be part of the deal.

I never intended to acquire a new assistant with my new hockey team, but here she is.

Constantly challenging me. Continually Intriguing me. Never backing down.

Even if I’m the villain in her fairy tale.

He stole my legacy, and now he holds the key to my future.

When he sold our family’s hockey team to Max Kingston, my father destroyed my dreams without a second thought. And that was only his first betrayal.

Now I have to play nice with my new boss in order to carve out my new future.

But when long days and late nights lead to so much more, I realize I’m falling for the intensely arrogant, beautiful man who quietly puts everyone else’s needs before his own.

Playing nice with the enemy isn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

But can I survive falling for this King?

Amazing

Max Kingston is one hot, alpha CEO, in and out of the bedroom!!! Daphne thinks her father selling The Revolution to the Kingston organization has turned her world upside down. Never could she have imagined her new boss, is who was really going to rock her world. Max & Daphne have off the chart chemistry from the moment they meet and once they give in, there is no stopping them! Don’t let Daphne fool you either, she knows her way around business too. Max & Daphne are the new power couple! As always Bella does an amazing job if intertwining all our favorite characters into each book while setting us up for the future and rocking our world!!!!

Where is the story??

First, if you’re an avid reader/listener - this is not worth a credit or your money.
Writing like this actually infuriates me. It’s lazy and shows that the main goal is not to tell a romantic tale, it’s to sell more books. The author spent 75% of this book setting up story for her OTHER books. I’ve listened to a few of her books on audible and the same can be said for those too. Is this a never ending ploy to get listeners to purchase the next story without ever really telling a full one? Or can she not focus on telling the main character’s story for long enough to fill one book? (My guess is that it’s both)
The two “main characters” were the B storyline here and it was extremely annoying. I found myself becoming frustrated by how thoroughly the author was describing the jeans Max wore during the ONE date they had before “falling in love”. Those 4 sentences could’ve been dedicated to more of the actual love story between these two. That’s how desperate I was to hear more about why these characters were together.
Also, one chapter ends with a “suspenseful moment” when Max answer’s his phone….and it’s never mentioned again. Like, AT ALL. Why? Because that is part of a different book by this author.
See how this works? Sell. Sell. Sell. It’s greedy. I’m not here for that.
It’s a real shame. I can see potential in her writing, however there is way too much that is lacking in the storytelling and character development.
I plan on listening to this again and breaking down the amount of time spent where any of the 783 characters in this book are discussing/thinking about story related to the H & h. I’ll add it to this review.

On another note, I suggest hopping on a book review app and checking out some other reviews about this series. I’ve seen the duplicate reviews show up for different books on Audible and it makes me suspicious about where some of these positive reviews are really coming from.

Great series

This may have been my favorite book in the series. I liked seeing the oldest Kingston sibling finally find his HEA.

Awesome Series!

Oh Max!!! It's always the uptight leaders of the family that's the kinkiest. Book boyfriend for sure! Loved the Kingston family and hope there's more books in the future. The narrators in this series are all the BEST!!

Max and Daphne

Sebastian does a fantastic job as Max and this was only the second book with Summer as a narrator. I really enjoyed the ebook but the Kingston group texts were so much more entertaining with the Sebastian as the narrator. The narration enhanced the book for me. I really enjoyed it more.

LOVED LOVED LOVED

I am in love with the Kingston family!! I can't get enough!

Max and Daphne are so hot together! I loved their chemistry and the way that they are together.
Max is the oldest of the family and married to the company. But then he finds this feisty woman that challenges him.

Daphne didn't know what she signed up for when working for Max. She holds her own when it comes to him and not many people do that.

I can't wait for more from this world and from Bella! She has become a favorite author of mine.

great

This whole series was awesome. I enjoyed that each book had different narration. I think this was my least favorite of the 3 but still 100% worth credit.
