Publisher's summary

Hollywood heartthrob Gavin Price invaded our small town, Sunrise Bay, like he owned it.

Gavin was my biggest celebrity crush when I was young. He bears the charisma of an easygoing boy-next-door mixed with a rule-breaker personality both in person and on screen.

For a moment, I thought maybe my fairy godmother sent him to me.

Until he decided to run against my mother for mayor.

Everyone in our town knows my mom’s happiness comes before my own, so I take it as my personal mission to show him who really runs this town.

I just didn’t realize that being my mom’s right-hand woman would put me in such close proximity to him. Very quickly, I question whether he wants to win the mayoral race or me.

Another winner!

Gavin and Posey’s story is wonderful! Gavin was Posey’s celebrity crush growing up but now he’s the man that she loves to hate. Gavin wants to be seen as a person and not a heartthrob. These two are perfect for each other and I loved EVERY minute of this story!

Another Amazing Addition!!

You ever deliberately take your time with a book because you don’t want it to end? One where you already know you want more before you make it halfway?? That was me during this book! With every new addition, my love for this big beautiful family grows even deeper. I am absolutely obsessed with the Greenes and there’s no end in sight! What would you do if your celebrity crush showed up in your hometown!? That’s where Posey has found herself, working next door to her crush and tv sensation Gavin Price. I loved that there was so much more to him than meets the eye. Yes, he was a Hollywood heartthrob but he was also genuine and sweet and his heart was pure gold. He and Posey both share a vulnerability about themselves that has left a lasting effect on how they view life and relationships. Posey was so passionate and at times impulsive. But, she acted out of love and loyalty and I couldn’t 100% fault her for that. The smoking hawt chemistry, adorable charm and laugh out shenanigans made for a story I dreaded having to put down. There wasn’t a thing I didn’t love about this book. In My Famous Frenemy Piper Rayne delivered a comedic enemies to lovers masterpiece that delighted me from the first to last page! Nelson Hobbs and Ava Lucas were audio perfection as Gavin and Posey!

More Greene Family Goodness

Posey was beyond surprised when her former childhood celebrity crush moved to Sunrise Bay. Gavin, who happened to be a friend of Posey's brother-in-law, was walking away from Hollywood and embarking on a new life in the small town. He made no effort to hide his interest in Posey and it was sweet how he invented reasons to see her and spend time with her. And it seemed the interest was mutual... until Posey learned that Gavin was running against her mother in the local mayoral race. Suddenly Gavin went from possible love interest to public enemy #1.

While still enjoyable, My Famous Frenemy was not my favorite in the series. Posey's dislike of Gavin felt unreasonable and her treatment of him was so unfair and hurtful. Posey had always been closest to her mother, and in many ways felt responsible for her happiness. But her actions, which seemed petulant and immature, had me firmly on Team Gavin. When he finally drew the line and said enough, I was happy that he insisted she examine herself and make a choice.

Not my favorite

The characters were ok as was the storyline. I wasn't all that impressed really. The narrator's were fine but I didn't care for when they did the opposite sexes voice.

The male voice was the only reason this wasn’t 5 stars

The nasal male voice was almost too irritating to listen to. Otherwise the story was hilarious and excellent.

Just okay for me.

Gavin and Posey’s competitive relationship is loaded with snarky comments, hijinks and side bets that make them enemies in the race for mayor of Sunrise Bay. I liked Gavin’s vulnerabilities from his time in Hollywood, his desire to belong by running for mayor and his sweet personality. I wish I could say the same for Posey but her prickly, sarcastic attitude got old after a while. She guards her heart with the excuse that she has to hate Gavin to be loyal to her mom as her campaign manager but it’s annoying. Granda Ethel and her horny cronies are out of control and their influence has become formulaic in my opinion. The narration by Ava Lucas and Nelson Hobbs was just okay for me.
