Publisher's summary

The second and final book in the sexy and tantalizing White Lies duet from New York Times best-selling author Lisa Renee Jones.

Nick "Tiger" Rogers sought out Faith Winter with revenge as his agenda. He made her his obsession. He seduced her. He made her want him. He made her trust him. And then he trusted her. He wanted her. He loved her. But now the lies will be exposed, the truth revealed. Hearts will be broken. Lives shattered.

Nick. Faith. The truth. The passion. The shameless obsession.

A COMPELLING CONCLUSION TO AN ADDICTIVE DUET

So Nick and Faith’s story continues to build along with all the mystery and suspense in this second book in the White Lies Duet. The suspense is two-fold.. from constantly expecting Nick’s secrets and lies to be found out and guessing who exactly is behind the murders, what’s their agenda.. and who or what’s next. Then it adds another layer or three on top as Faith and Nick’s relationship grows deeper and stronger, her Artistic career starts to take off which brings back Faith’s overfriendly agent, as well as a person she’d rather not see from her past and her estranged Uncle is lurking in the wings to either rebuild bridges.. or to destroy them only time will tell.

Meanwhile Nick’s fallen hard and goes out of his way to merge his and Faith’s lives together, protect her from the threats and encourage her in her new career.. but the sharing of his secrets and coming clean about his lies was, predictably, left too late. Because Pandora opened the box, the cat was let out of the bag.. and the poop hit the fan - and poor obsessed and devastated Nick only had himself to blame. The sexy arrogant badass alpha said he’d fight to keep Faith by his side and safe.. and that’s exactly what this tireless hero had to do.. as well as walk through flames to save her. Nick set off to catch a killer, unravel a mystery and walk away a happy man without getting burned.. guess he achieved MOST of those objectives.

A very enjoyable dual POV conclusion with just the right balance of passion/sex, mystery, suspense, drama and relationship building.. however I did think the reveal at the end was a little anti-climactic after the long build-up and uh huh moments. These two damaged complex characters taught each other how to open up, how to live, how to love, how to repent and how to forgive. The sizzling chemistry, character-building/development and the blending of two lives was nicely paced and the tarnished sexy hero deserved.. and very much earned the heroine’s love in the end.. and their HEA too.

Worth a credit? This was a excellent Duet to get lost in and each scene was described really well, each chapter was captivating, the story was jointly well narrated, the dialogue flowed easily and the whole Duet, IMO, was definitely worth the two credits.

Nonstop action and intrigue.

A story without pause. The action and intrigue are well paced and electric. I feel like I know the characters. I rarely write reviews and very few 5 stars. Loved both voices, (audible),

Shamefully Long

This is a continuation of the first book. Definitely too long! Get rid of the repetition and multiple sex scenes that are basically the same and it sure wouldn't be over 10 hours! Actually, the first book was the same. This could've easily been one story instead of broken up into two. The actual plot wasn't bad at all but the other stuff gets in the way. Lance Greenfield does a good narrating job but Grace Grant's voice sort of bothers me. Or else it could be the female character in the story- dumb as a box of rocks. Skip all the repetitive parts and you might enjoy listening to this.

Great except for...

Lance Greenfield is great w male voices.
Unfortunately, when we speaks as Faith, she sounds like she has a Brooklyn accent.

The authored mailed this one in. C- at best

Wow, this was really bad. Nick ‘Tiger’ Rogers, one of the top 5 lawyers in the country spends two books navel gazing, being indecisive and paralyzed into inaction over how to deal with his lies. The only times he shows a hint of decisiveness are when his arrogance, lies and deceit have Faith walking away from him. He pulls on his furs, does a caveman imitation and forcibly stops her from leaving. He then launches into a monologue accusing her of not committing to the relationship, how actions mean more than words and how she needs to trust him. Faith, being the ditz she is, melts in the face of Nick’s ridiculous demands and after a few orgasms decides the blame all belongs to her.

This was Lisa Renee Jones at her worst.

The narration was ok, Lance’s deep voice was full of serious emotion but it was all the same, no matter if he was ordering coffee or dealing with a crisis of conscience he sounded the same. Grace Grant was great, but the story was a stinker.

Oh, and just open the damn birthday card already!

Shameless

This one picks up right where the last leaves off and let me tell you I listened to this on audio and I did not want to hit pause at any point because it was so good. Nick fell hard and fast even while looking for his father's killer and all the lies and deceit could not keep him from Faith. He knew she was not the killer but there was something going on with the winery and the danger abounds. Good suspense and great chemistry. Definitely a recommendation from me.

A seductive, addictive, suspenseful read !

Both narrators Grace Grant & Lance Greenfield did a great job. They made this book even more enjoyable!

The White Lies Duet is an emotional roller coaster that delivers a powerful punch to the heart. Faith and Nick’s electrifying and passionate story grabbed my attention from the very first scene, with just the right balance of suspense, intrigue, sizzling sex and mounting emotional attachment between the characters, not to mention an impressive insight into the characters’ psyche. The dialogue is smart, seductive, mesmerizing, well executed and flows effortlessly.

Lisa Rene Jones is an amazing storyteller and her incredible talent for compelling characterization and original premises comes through on every page. I absolutely adored the characters! Hot, sexy, intense, arrogant, badass attorney Nick” Tiger” Rogers is one hell of a hero, and Faith Winter, the brave owner of the Reid Winter Winery, amazing artist and hunted heroine is his perfect match. Loved the way these two uncommitted individuals, are allowed to grow individually, as well as a couple and how they teach each other the true meaning of ever-lasting, unconditional love and how they were able to come back from their issues and deal with them in a healthy and mature way. I also loved revisiting old characters from the Inside Out series - Sarah and Chris Merit.

This was truly a delightful read. A superbly crafted story, laced with all the elements I enjoy in my romances and featuring two compelling, complex, multi-layered characters that undeniably belong together. Overall rating for this duet – 4.5 stars.
