Publisher's summary

An Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestseller.

For a Mountain Mercenary and a desperate woman, love becomes a dangerous refuge in New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker's novel of heart-gripping suspense.

Mountain Mercenary Hunter "Meat" Snow has a mission: eliminate the human traffickers scouring the barrios of Lima for vulnerable prey. But it's Meat who's taken down. Separated from his team and beaten within an inch of his life, he's left for dead. When he wakes, it’s to the intimate care of a beautiful stranger who knows all about survival.

Zara Layne was a child when a brutal murder left her orphaned and abandoned in Peru. Ever since, she's fended for herself on the streets, outrunning its predators. Trusting men is not in Zara's blood...until it warms to the exhilarating touch of the wounded hero who promises deliverance. As each other's rescuers, they return to Colorado for a new normal.

But when Meat disappears, Zara discovers how ruthless the past can be. With the help of the loyal Mercenaries, she's drawing on her own skills of endurance to find him. And for Zara, there's no danger great enough to come between her and the man she loves.

Objection

I cannot comprehend why a person would write about sex trade and slavery and include explicit sex scenes. It seems like an oxymoron. The rest of this story is quite good.

Entertaining, but more of the same.

Not a big fan of the narrator. She is overly dramatic at weird times and put emphasis on words unnecessarily. The story was fun and entertaining.

good

enjoyed this one

looking forward to Rex.

unpopular opinion but it turns out I don't like Stella Bloom as a narrator. Her speech inflections seem off.

So good

That ending!!! Omg wow…makes you anxious to get to the next book, and since I’ve both read and listened to that one already I can tell you it’s the best one yet!! It irked me that it was mentioned more than once that none of the men spoke or understood Spanish in this book, BUT in book one, arrow definitely understood every word the bad guys in the Dominican Republic were saying in rapid fire Spanish… so yeah that bugged me.

Great romance story and a bit of action

Most of the stories, including this one, a very, very sweet and the kind of predictable but it’s nice to see a story where something ends up, ending quite nicely or remain characters and the rest of the teams.

Love Meat and Zara!

This book was amazing! Meat and Zara are perfect together and the way they compliment each other is amazing. This book was a little less intense then some of the other ones but still fantastic all the same. I still can’t over the ending, I literally screamed and did not see it coming. Stella was great per the usual. Can’t wait to move on to Rex’s story!

Great story

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention the entire time. I loved watching Zara come into her own as she adapted to the major changes happening. She survived for 15 years in the barrio after being dropped there at ten. And then she takes a chance and trusts Meat which gets her rescued and returned to the US and she has to adapt again. I loved watching her strength come through and the way that Meat supported her throughout all of it. This was a great story and I can’t wait for the next one! Finally we get Rex’s.
Narrator did a great job bringing this to life with the different characters and accents, showcased emotion and action in the voice well.

What a ride with Zara!

Ok this one starts in foreign country and goes from there! I love ones that start like this one does! We really get a ride with Zara! She is complex and what she learns in here makes her amazing! Meat finally gets his story! I enjoyed his part in helping Zara. I can’t wait for the next one!!

Secuestrada! 🔥

A thrilling ride!

Overall I enjoyed this book. (Both characters were likable.)

My heart went out to Zara! I thought she was a strong woman for holding it together throughout her ordeal!

MEAT turned to putty for Zara, and really came through for her! (and for their relationship)

I was hoping for more sexy scenes - but this book was more of a rollercoaster ride than romance!

Sensational job narrating Stella and ovreall fun book Susan!

Kudos!
