Publisher's summary

Born into one of the leading mob families in Chicago, Aria Scuderi struggles to find her own path in a world where no choices are given. Aria was only 15 when her parents betrothed her to Luca—The Vice—Vitiello, the oldest son of the head of the New York Cosa Nostra to ensure peace between the two families.

Now at 18, the day Aria has been dreading for years is looming dangerously: her wedding to Luca.

Aria is terrified of marrying a man she hardly knows, especially someone like Luca who got his nickname "The Vice" for crushing a man’s throat with his bare hands. Luca might be one of the most sought after men in New York, thanks to his good looks, wealth, and predator-like charisma that radiates power, but the society girls throwing themselves at him don’t know what Aria does: that the bad boy aura isn’t just a game; blood and death lurk beneath Luca’s striking gray eyes and arrogant smile.

In her world, a handsome exterior often hides the monster within, a monster who can just as easily kill as kiss you.

The only way to escape the marriage to Luca would be to run away and leave everything she’s ever known behind, but Aria can’t bear the thought of never seeing her family again.

Despite her fear, she decides to go through with the marriage; Aria has grown up among predators like Luca and knows that even most cold-hearted bastards have a heart, and she has every intention of working her way into Luca’s.

DAMN, IT COULD’VE BEEN THE START OF SOMETHING GOOD

With a few major and some minor tweaks here and there this could’ve been a good story.. but sorry Juliana, your whispery quiet narration would be best suited to children’s books and NOT, in my opinion, Mafia romances. The narration made the eighteen year old shy virgin a weak heroine and she fell in love, forgave and complied WAY too easily IMO.

Worth a credit? Sadly it’s a no.. this narrator, for me, wasn’t a good fit which is a shame because it, and the whole series, has potential. I hear there’s a Prequel so I may continue if there’s a different narrator.

Horrible narrator

I can’t believe this woman accepted a mafia story that takes place in New York and Chicago yet she can’t even attempt to mimic the accent needed. Next time watch the God Father or an episode of The Sopranos. She killed the book for me.

Too slow!!!

This story did not ring true as a Nadia book to me. The main character was born into the family and should not have been so innocent and ridiculously whiny. She should have had more of an edge living in this life. There also was not much of a story line. It was all about boring sex scenes with her and her constant complaining. The narrators voice also didn’t sell the story for me when she talked in Luca’s voice. I was underwhelmed and will not coming continue on with the series. It had so much potential and fell short.

Dissapointed by narrator

I loved the first book in this series “luca”. I was so excited for the next installment but the narrator thoroughly destroyed it. Her voice was like a little girl. I can get over the weakness of the heroine and the dudes transgressions bc its fiction but this is an audio book.... the narration has to be on point!!

Enjoyed the Story

I enjoyed the story and I like the characters but the narrator wasn’t my favorite I think that she didn’t do the story any justice.
Maybe the next book will have a different narrator and it will be more enjoyable to listen to.

Whining annoyance

Aria was constantly whining and her sister Gianna was just annoying. I will probably not waste more credits to read the rest of the series. So much more could have been done with this story.

Cringeworthy

I could not finish it, it was just horrible. It wasn’t for me, it felt like there was a lot of misogynistic undertones throughout the entire book. The females were presented in such a weak way it made me physically uncomfortable.

I wanted to like this book so badly…

I’m not even done with this book yet, but I’m 6.5 hours in to a roughly 8 hr book and there has been zero character or plot development. This book should be called The Never Ending Foreplay Story because that is the only part of the story with even a sliver progress. Aria becomes extremely annoying about mid-way through the book and never loses the virginal wimpy whine in her voice *spoiler* EVEN AFTER BEING CHEATED ON. She’s a weak female MC (and I’ve read a ton of mafia romance novels with innocent, virgin, MCs, but non as insufferable as Aria) and has absolutely no personality. Luca has a hair of character development at least. I’ve read other books by this author that are incredible, steamy reads, but this one is just plain frustrating. Save yourself the trouble and don’t read this book.
