Publisher's summary

Former Marine Special Ops Ethan Blackstone thought his day would start off with business as usual at Blackout Security Inc., until a call for help from Austin's top DA changes everything.

Krista Jameson is a romance novelist. She's also the DA's only daughter and Ethan's first love from long ago. With the success of her latest book, a crazed fan has marked her as his. When her stalker writes threatening letters to Krista's father, it forces him to hire security and unexpectedly brings Ethan back into her life. Ethan was dangerous to her heart as a teenager, the man he was now could be lethal.

Will being forced to work together rekindle a flame that was never truly dead? As the danger to Krista grows, so, too, does their passion. Together, they will face her nightmare, but as their past meets their present, will they have a future once the danger ends?

Terrific Story & Audible Listen🎧 Krista💘Ethan!

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book, from Michelle Kee’s writing style to the storylines and characters she created. Krista is a popular author, because her Dad is a well known District Attorney she writes under a pen name, she wanted a career on her own merits not because of who she is. When a crazed fan turned stalker starts to cross lines and sends threatening to her father he hires a security firm to protect her, a family friend Ethan Blackstone to provide security and find the stalker. Ethan had left town to join the marines, when he returned to civilian life he start up BlackOut Security with his former troop members each offering their own expertise in security. I adored Krista’s strength and her ability to hold her own next to those big badass marines. I loved when Ethan realized he still had feelings for Kristen. I thought the author did a great job plotting everything out, there is plenty of drama, angst, action, mystery, thrilling suspense and some steamy hot romance. Michelle Kee, thank you for this great story!

Missy Cambridge is a terrific narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. She did a great job projecting the emotions of the characters as well as the drama of the story into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

Blackstone’s Heart

This was a great book to start the series. Lots of action. Enjoyed Ethan and Krista’s story. The bad guy got what he deserved.

Just okay

This story was a bit predictable for me and seemed too much like many others I have read. I found it enjoyable but also found the sex scenes almost comical. The narrator did a good job but at times I felt a disconnect from the story ie the sex scenes not helping with the situation.

Good series beginning!!!

I love this book and can't wait for the rest in the series. I'm hoping Grant's story is next but we will see. This is my first time listening to Michelle Kee but I look forward to more. The narrator though, was horrible. Her male voices sounded whiny and nasal and for alpha males and take charge personas it just didn't add up. I was hoping she would have improved, but sadly no.... At times, I wanted to silence her and just read the darn book myself. Jeffrey Kafer, Aiden Snow or even Eric Dove would have done a better job. Please don't let Missy be the narrator for the other books in this series.

Interesting

This was my first Michelle Kee's book. Ethan and Krista’s story is suspenseful, action packed, fast-paced, and steamy. The story has potential, but unfortunately I had difficulties to stay focused. I think the narration needs some improvements. The dialogues were okay, and the characters were easy to distinguish, but the narrative between the dialogues was monotone. #AudiobookObsession
