Publisher's summary

Single mom Vivi Vincent is thrust into her worst nightmare when she's trapped inside a mall during a terror attack along with her eight-year-old son. With the help of Jed Brennan, an FBI special agent on enforced leave, Vivi and her son survive the assault. But the danger is far from over.

Vivi's son may have witnessed critical details of the terrorists' future plans and is targeted for death, but he's mute, and he's traumatized. Still someone launches a strike against the FBI's safe house, and Jed fears the bad guys have an inside man. No longer knowing who to trust, he hides mother and son in a log cabin deep in the heart of the Wisconsin Northwoods. There Jed and Vivi try to figure out how to unlock the information inside her son's head. What they don't bargain for is the red-hot attraction that flares between them, or the extent of the sinister plot that threatens to rip apart not only any chance of happiness they might have together, but also the very fabric of American society.

Awesome read..

Any additional comments?

WOW! This had so much excitement from the very beginning. As good as the first book, A Cold Dark Place, was, this one was better.

I really liked Jed. He was kind and sweet and considerate, except when it came to doing his job and then was deadly. My kind of hero. Vivi was ok. She spent too much time trying to figure out if Jed was “real’ or if he was like her ex: a liar and an abuser. Really, how many times does he have to save your life, and Michael’s, before you KNOW he’s not like the ex. That went on so long it became irritating.

LOL.. I liked Killion but, good grief, he was a total ass when it came to getting on Jed’s nerves. I wanted to knock him out once or twice but mostly I just laughed at him. And I loved it when David showed up and after just a few minutes Jed’s Dad wanted to know if Jed wanted him to kill David for him. David was that big of a jerk.

Overall, I really, really liked this book and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next, no skimming in this book because you could miss something really important. I loved that the author had you seeing different POV’s, and I liked the other players in the story: Michael, Frazer, Killion. The bad guys: Sargon Al Sahad, Pilah and Elan. The creepy-jerk David, Vivi’s ex.

There was some serious wanting in this book but only one explicit love scene.

As to the narrator: Again Mr. Dove did a wonderful job. Not enough emotion but still a really good job.

Thrilling read I totally loved

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes Toni is an outstanding author as this audio shows with a wonderful narrator who holds your interests from the first page to the last. This book as an outstanding plot with wonderful characters that you fall in love with. It has today issues which makes it a book you can relate to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There are a lot of wonderful characters here but I liked Vivi's son even though he is afraid and has a learning disability he pushes ahead and saves the day.

What does Eric G. Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

For me Eric gave me site when I would not have had any, he painted pictures in my head that made the scene seem more real. His voice is easy to listen to and brings out the toughness of the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it sure was I had trouble putting it down.

Any additional comments?

Toni is a wonderful author her writing style is outstanding, she pulls you in from page one and never lets you go. You know when you pick up one of her books it is going to be a ride of your life as grabs your attention why spinning tales and twists that you never see coming. Her books are easy to relate to as she shows us with Vivi's son and his disabilities that he overcomes to help fight the bad men and save so many.

There are so many characters to love and a few you won't. The father should be shot for his treatment of his son and ex wife. Vivi loves her son and puts him first always, she knows he can be more and pushes him to his limits but is a little over protective. Jed at first I thought he was wonderful than I didn't care to much for him but he turned out to be an amazing man who stood up for what he believed in no matter the cost. His family was just to much (in a good way) I just adored his father which had me laughing.

This is an action packed, intense, thrilling suspense that grips your heart and makes you hold your breath. There are times when you wish you could grab the characters and pull them to safety. Even a few of the bad guys I felt their pain and wish I could have saved them. I felt their loss and wish things could have been different. Which made the story more real to me.

Eric G. Dove was the voice behind the action that Toni gave us. He is just outstanding with his many voices you forget you are listening to a book. He put the humor right in the read I loved to hear his chuckles and his many tones as he bought the book to life for me. He has a very smooth voice with the correct tones and the roughness when it needed. He has a voice I could listen to all day. Toni gives an outstanding plot and story which pulls you in and Eric closes the deal for me.

Toni is one of my favorite authors if you haven't read or listen to any of her books you should. She writes about today issues you can relate to throws in a few punches along the way. Grips your heart and soul as she tells a compelling thrilling suspense. When I see her name I know I have to have the book. I love her audio's she has the best narrators as she shows us again Cold Pursuit. I can't wait to read or listen to the rest of the Cold Justice series.

I LOVED IT!!!

I found this book to be thought provoking and full of action, suspense and romance. The theme of a mother's love for her child was so well done in this story too. This book is full of some very endearing characters and others who are despicable. The book is a standalone listen. I thought the narrator added so much enjoyment to the book with his distinguishable voices for the various characters. The imagery in this book was well done that I could envision so many scenes and locations.

Great listen!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Mistakenly, I listened to the 4th book Cold Fear not realizing it was part of a series. I loved it & at the end, the narrator said it was part of a series. I was thrilled & immediately started book 1. Three days later & I've now finished book 2- Cold Pursuit. These books are wonderful. The crime stories are very intriguing & keep me interested and wanting to hear more. There's a great deal of detail to the crimes & the FBI's pursuit of the criminals. In addition, there's just enough story devoted to the development of the complex characters and a bonus of some really hot relationships. I'm on to Book 3 & can't wait.
Definitely worth the time!!

Partially disappointed in the ending

What did you love best about Cold Pursuit?

Love the characters

Any additional comments?

Very disappointed Jed and Vivi didn't get another well deserved hot and steamy chapter together at the end and no update on Micheal's progress regaining his speech.

Cold Justice Book Two

Cold Justice Book Two.

On a shopping trip with her son, Vivi Vincent is stuck in the middle of a mall shooting. She hides Michael in a cabinet and tries to find a way out. Meanwhile, Special Agent Jed Brennan is trying to get as many people out as he can. When the dust clears, they find out that Michael may have heard names or plans significant to the terrorists' plots. However, he is a mute, eight year-old boy.

Audio Review:
Eric Dove narrates this series. He utilizes multiple accents to accomplish character voices. It is always clear who is speaking and how they are feeling.

If you're looking for a fast-paced, thrilling mystery this is the book for you!

More Thriller than Romance!

If you’re looking for hot and heavy intimacy, this isn’t your book or series. There is a couple that develops a relationship but, the real story is the, “who done it?, catch the bad guy and avoid world wide disaster!” if you keep that in mind and a thriller is what you like, these books are really good. The characters are well-developed and unique, the plot is original and multidimensional and the narration is perfect! I like hot and sexy as much as anyone but, too much of a good thing, becomes dull. I will often take a break from romance and listen to James Patterson or Greg Iisles and this series fits into that type of mold; in my opinion.

This book could be a standalone but, the last couple chapters will make more sense if you have listened to book one, first. There are a couple of brief cameo appearances, from the characters from book one but, it wouldn’t take much away from this book’s plot if you started with book two.

Shocking.....makes no sense. Bigoted?

The Bottom Line:
Story: Sad, makes no sense. Writing is average.
Performance: very good, well done!
Relationship/heat: mild heat, relationship loving but at times doesn’t make sense.
Overall: not worth a credit, or your time!

You will need to have a LOT of suspended belief for this one!
I heard so much about this author, I had very high hopes, and I am so disappointed, and sad. There is action, suspense, and some romance, but....a lot of it doesn’t make sense. Where do I begin....?

If you can believe that an elected American Vice President will conspire with terrorist to kill innocent American citizens in a mall, for the purpose of creating a war in the Middle East, just because he is Jewish.... than this book is for you.

The premis that a Jewish Vice President will kill Americans to “protect his people” in Israel, by provoking a war, is basically suggesting that an American Jew will never be loyal to the US. Which is sad and suggests bigotry.

Yes , there is also clear sympathy for brutal terrorists (they are “manipulated”). And it is a complete mystery how a Middle East war can be in the interest of Israel, but the story is built on that idea.

Not well researched and if you know anything about the region, it really doesn’t make sense. Is this approach typical to Teri Anderson?

Not worth a credit, not worth your time!
