Mourning my soulmate

I had the serendipitous opportunity to listen to this audiobook within a week of loosing my beloved companion animal of 11 years. It was a hard week and I woke up shaking from grief, denial, anger and guilt. This book was brilliant in addressing the pains, fears and concerns that I could both articulate and not even verbalize yet. I know the author is gifted, she writes with spiritual wisdom that soothed my broken heart and ailing soul. Nigel, my Weimaraner was the most precious thing in my life. The comforting words in this book allowed me to settle my fears and my guilt and move forward in the healing process. Thank you.

Insight, wisdom and comfort all rolled into one

The one thing that I find brilliant about The Amazing Afterlife of Animals is Karen’s knowledge base about grief and how it affects us all whether it is a loss of a pet a loved one, a job or relationship. It’s almost as if she studied grief at a masters level, she combines both book knowledge as well as experience. She also has something that most people don’t have and that’s the ability to peek beyond the veil and to see both sides of the coin, the physical realm as well as the spiritual. I was a bereavement counselor for 13 years with Hospice so I’m very well adept at peoples grief reactions no matter what the cause is. What Karen offers is a knowing that our pets are still with us sharing our life even though we cannot physically see them. This provides comfort knowing that this bond still remains. This book provides for those who desperately miss their pets, the ability to know that their life still goes on and that we will once again be reunited because our souls are connected. My heart delights in knowing that I will see all of my beloved animals once again.

A CHANGING EXERIENCE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK

I'm not sure if there are enough words to express what this book has done for me. Ive had many losses in my life as many of us,we learn just learn how to cope and how to deal with it, but to understand to grow to accept with love and growth is another feeling.
I read this book after my beloved dog Gizmo left this earth. I always knew in my heart that this little guy was special and was here for a purpose as we all are, but wasn't sure why or how. I read this book with a heavy heart I cried all the time, the experiences I had with Gizmo played such a huge part of my life. I could not put this book down I was like is this possible that I have found a book an author who could really allow this pain this loss to be understood. I decided to get a reading from Karen, well I'm here to tell everyone it was powerful, it was amazing it was life changing, I finally got it how special Gizmo truly was his purpose where he is and how this powerful amazing pet was suppose to be in my life. I now wake up everyday with a ton of gratitude ive learned how to speak to the universe how to trust the universe how to understand this magical feeling of life, I owe it all to Gizmo for coming to my life and even now never leaving me with all his amazing signs for Karen Anderson for the gift she has for her intelligence, her understanding.
her zest for life and love for people and animals. I owe so much to this women, I highly recommend this book to everyone who has loss of human or and pet, you owe it to yourself.

Helps in the grief that comes

I was hesitant to purchase anything that might be dosed with quotes or heavy religious influences, but I was surprised to listen to her story and find only alignment and peaceful explanations. I recently lost the little love of my life and this has only confirmed my own beliefs and given me some balm for my broken heart as I go through my grief each day. The ache is overwhelming and losing my little one and having to make the choice for it to happen was agony. Now I know he truly is still around with me and I eased his suffering.

I needed to read this!!

I can't look at pictures of animals in any sort of distress, let alone videos. I can't figure out why I have such intense reactions. This book found it's way to me and I desperately needed it. I know my critters are around me all the time. I feel my cat Cheetah walking on my bed during the night.

This book will help ease the pain if you've been an animal lover like me and hate the fact that their little lives are so short. One thing I do know, it is much better that they pass before we do - they couldn't handle losing us. We at least understand the process. They don't.

The only problem was the narration. I didn't realize until I was finished that the author was the narrator. Sometimes you just need to hire someone else. The background wasn't a studio - it sounds tinny or something.

Must read

I lost my best friend of 13 years to heart failure. She went everywhere with me and was a second mom to my kiddos. I’m devastated and have had a terrible time coping with her loss. My husband found this book for me to help with coping, hoping it would bring some peace to me knowing she’s still here with me. It has helped tremendously. I recommend to anyone who has fur babies or has suffered the loss of one. It eases the pain and helps you look at their passing in a new way. Like she says in the book, as tempted as you are to skip through the chapters-don’t. All the information she gives you through out the book is necessary. I’m forever grateful to the author. She has helped me through the most difficult time of my life and my kids life.

I needed this so very much

Having just lost my beloved feline companion Artemis just two days ago, I desperately need what Karen Anderson had to say. I am completely lost in my grief and her stories and words were comforting. She gave me hope and will help me be at peace , eventually as I continue this awful process. Loss of a pet is on a whole different level of pain that has been very difficult to endure however Karen has made it a little easier. Thank you so much .

Delightful

Well I am one of those awful skeptics. However, it was nice to allow my mind to play a little bit for once after the loss of my dog. Here’s the deal, even if you don’t believe in all of this, the author is wonderful to listen to and just rest your brain for a little bit. It lowered my blood pressure and made me giggle Plus just put me in a better mental state. Go ahead and use the credit for listening to it in your car, it will Really help you work through some things that are upsetting. Sorry I’m using speak to text for this review. All the best!

More communications and less autobiography

I would have preferred to hear more of her communications with the animals and less about her work history. Also, the narrator sounded a bit too young. Would have preferred a more mature voice.

I ended my listening about half-way through.
