Arden Brady has spent her life in and out of hospitals. But according to the world, she doesn’t look sick. She’s lost jobs and friends because they don’t see beneath the surface, but she’s learned to rely on her family and herself to keep going. And then, she meets Liam.

Liam and Arden

I think Carrie Ann Ryan must have shares in the sale of tissues, with almost every book of hers I find myself reaching for my box, her stories are always so moving and engrossing and this one was no exception.

This book kicks off a new series for the Montgomery clan this time set in Boulder but don't worry all the characters we have come to know and love are involved in or mentioned in Liam and Arden's story as well as her overprotective brothers.

Arden and Liam met when they shared an ER hospital room, not the most romantic place to meet perhaps but Liam saw something in Arden and knew he wanted to see her again, so he asked for her number and she gave it to him. Arden told herself she didn't expect to hear from the handsome guy again, although she hoped she would. Arden has spent so much time in and out of hospitals, she's also lost people, she has Lupus and when it became too much for them they just walked away.

So when two weeks have passed and she hasn't heard from him she's not surprised but then fate steps in and they meet again by chance when Liam catches her dog Jasper who was chasing something and ignoring her - something even the most well-behaved dogs do sometimes.

They end up going for a coffee and agree to meet again. Liam's world has been turned upside down, I won't tell you how because of spoilers, but Arden is just the medicine he needs. But is Liam the man to stand at her side despite her illness, will he stay or will he eventually leave as well? As time passes they form a bond and become a couple. I have to say I loved both of them, I loved how they were together and I loved how he stood up to her brothers, perhaps having a younger sister helped him know what he needed to say to them?

The characters are all so well defined, with the siblings and extended family on both sides playing their part. This story is moving, and emotional and gripped me from the beginning. Arden and Liam's journey will touch your heart, it's a beautiful, emotionally intense love story.

The narration of this book by Joe Arden is really well done, there is just the right feel to the way he portrays each of the characters and his timing is so good. It was a joy listening to him narrate this book.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review

My Favorite Book

Wrapped in Ink is amazing. I love Arden so much and for someone that has an illness that doesn't show it is refreshing to get a character that I can relate to so much. I totally want to be Arden's friend.

I enjoyed Liam too. What he went through was hard and my heart broke for his pain.

The Boulder Montgomery clan is awesome and I can't wait to get more of them.

I just bought the physical copy and I am so glad. It is hands down one of my favorite books ever! I always want to jump into the Montgomery world and this book was no different. As always Joe Arden did a fantastic job narrating.

Liam Montgomery... the lone wolf

Liam’s world has turned upside down. He met Arden, who has a chronic disease but is full of life. While struggling with his ordeal he is getting closer to Arden. I thought her being sick will deter Liam from moving forward but he is all heart. He’s got everything, looks, smarts and a this big heart. He is a Montgomery all the way. This is not the usual romance, and I love the reality that goes with it. Loved the story and how it developed. The narration by Joe Arden is really good too.

Surprising

Oh my goodness. Montgomery shockers galore. I love Liam and want him for my own, even with his identity crisis. For someone with a chronic disease, I know exactly how Arden feels. Many cannot handle her illness and leave when things get tough. I know people say they aren't true friends, but I think they just don't know what to do. They only come around when things are good, because they can handle that. And to have her bubble burst and in a way lose all hope. I know how that feels. It happened to me when I was just 17 years old. I never thought I would find someone who could handle it, but I did. And so did Arden. So again, I LOVE Liam.

Joe Arden is fabulous as usual. I love how emotional he was with Timothy Montgomery. And the anger in Liam.

Great story

Liam and Arden were great. I loved their meeting at a hospital as this was a different way to meet. She is in there for treatment of her disease that won’t ever be cured and he has an accident at a friends wedding. After meeting and he gets her number, an event at home sends him for a loop and he doesn’t call. When they happen to meet again he doesn’t make the mistake of not setting up another meeting with her again. Slowly they learn more about each other. Liam starts to realize that what started as a bit of a distraction from his recent problems may be leading to something more. Arden also has to decide how much to let Liam in to her life. Great characters and chemistry and I loved learning about them. Fantastic read!

Joe Arden does a great job narrating this story

Truly beautiful love story, moving and inspiring!

To me this was a near perfect feel-good read with wonderful three-dimensional main characters, a beautifully written, charming love story.

I was completely blindsided by the family secret that changed so much for Liam. That was one of the pivotal moments in the book for me and some of the resulting scenes were among my favorites in the whole book. Emotional, yes, but beautifully written and in the end incredibly heartwarming too.

Arden is so positive and upbeat, making the best of a truly difficult situation. She absolutely deserved someone like Liam and strong as she is, I was really glad to see her with someone she could lean on and trust to stay. She’s got one of the best jobs ever and I could totally emphasize with her glee and slight bedazzlement when she find out about Liam’s job.

Arden and Liam have issues to overcome, but not with each other, which I really loved. There are no big fights or big misunderstandings. They meet, meet again, start seeing each other and fall in love very naturally and in the sweetest way. They tease each other and are there for each other, fitting in well with the others’ siblings, overprotective and meddling as all of them are. None of the siblings on either side seem familiar with the concept of boundaries, but they are supportive and loving in the best way. Great group to continue the series with.

Narration: spot on! Joe Arden is one of my favorite narrators and he did a wonderful job performing this story. I loved his voices for both Liam and Arden, but I especially liked how natural and sweet he made Arden sound. He did amazing with all the female characters in fact.

I love how this book deals with the reality of autoimmune disease. It was a real portrait of what it means to struggle with the disease and fight for a life. The chemistry was fantastic and the narrators were perfect.

All the feels!

I have all the feels for this book. Seriously, listening to it got me thru my work day! I love the Montgomery family and love getting more stories about this family. I loved, loved Liam and Arden. These 2 had so many layers to them and seeing them meet and grow was amazing. I felt all the emotions reading this story. From goose bumps to tears to laughter to happiness, I felt it all. Plus, Arden comes with some brothers who could each use a book.
