Publisher's summary

I have a secret.

A secret that chased me away from my home, my family, away from the only man I've ever loved.

I took that secret and pushed it down inside of me.

So far down, that it never had a chance of coming out.

That dirty little secret was like a seed. A seed that took root and grew to become a piece of me.

But what happens when that secret has finally outgrown me?

When its vines climb over every wall I have in place?

When it finally overfills that little spot inside of me that it's been buried in for so long now?

All secrets come out eventually.

I just hope mine doesn't destroy everyone I love.

She sacrificed it all...

A secret separates a girl from not only her family but her soul mate, but that secret is... there's more to what's she hiding. She just doesn't have the courage to dismantle the lives of those she loves. It's a courageous sacrifice for a teenage girl to selflessly turn to exiling herself from the life she's always known and standing on her own two feet to protect her family, but that's just what Lex does. She's strong enough to protect everyone until she returns home for her sister's wedding events and comes face to face with Stryker, the boy she left behind. But what she's keeping from him could not only shatter him, but her family, and her hometown.

But Stryker's resolve to prove his love for Lex is more powerful than she could have imagined, and he doesn't care who tries to stand in his way.

Sarah Puckett narrates Losing a Piece of Me flawlessly, narrating dual POV-male and female. I could literally feel the raw emotion of Lex's plight in Ms. Puckett's voice as if the story she told was her own. KB Andrews maintains a deep suspense throughout the story, only unearthing the harrowing secrets at the climax when it all comes crashing down, tugging and ripping at your heartstrings with every word spoken.

Losing a Piece of Me

What a beautiful story. This was my first book by this author and it won't be my last. Absolutely stunning prose. It was emotional and steamy and the perfect balance of angst. I was hooked from the beginning and did not want to put it down.

The narrator brings that prose to life perfectly. I loved the tones used and sometimes I struggle when the narrator attempts different voices, but I didn't feel that here. I felt overall her narration was pretty seamless and I really enjoyed it. I felt the emotion even more listening to the story.

Secrets kill

The story was heartbreaking due to the level of secrecy. The two main characters kept so much inside, it literally hurt to hear. It was like a sad real life story that you thought would never end. Like the two would never get their lives together.

Great Listen

KB ANdrews did a brilliant job in writing this story. This had everything in it from love and all the family secrets which keeps you on your toes so you really aren't sure what is about to happen. Of course I fell in love with Striker, the kid from the wrong side of the tracks who is an absolute gem and genuine. Lex is a girl struggling with who she really is and who her mom wants her to be. The secrets that are hidden over the years are perfectly revealed with just a little bite or two here and there and then at the end it all comes out. I found this book incredibly easy to listen to with the narrator doing an excellent job bringing both characters to life.

Emotional story

This book was quite emotional. A lot of lies and many half truths. Blood relatives who judge and mistreat instead of giving support. Two young lovers almost ruined beyond redemption. Lifelong scars. The beauty of pure love and forgiveness. Taking a second chance at happiness.

Sarah Puckett did a good job with this narration. I liked her voice and her pacing.
I'd have liked this book even better with dual narration. My only problem was rather technical. Sometimes the timelines were hard to distinguish. Flashbacks and dreams are pretty easy to tell apart while reading but it's harder and a bit confusing in audio.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful! Great Performance!

4.5 Brilliant Stars!!

Lex and Striker's their journey has been a wild roller coaster ride of emotions. Their hearts, trust and dreams have been shattered by heartbreak, but what bothers me, is how long it took for them to finally be together.

Sarah Puckett knows how to bring a story to life. Her amazing performance compel me to listen the entire audiobook non-stop. Her talented narrating skills have the ability to make me feel as if I was part of the story!

All in all, Losing a Piece of Me has been and enjoyable, intriguing and entertaining story, which I highly recommend!!

Enjoyable Read!

Losing A Piece of Me by K.B. Andrews

Enjoyable Read

K.B. Andrews main point in this book is two people who have been in love most their lives but are torn apart by a secret. Lex has been keeping a secret for 6 years and this secret has been eating her alive. This secret chased her away from home, her family, away from the only man she has ever loved. She tries to push the secret down inside of herself. And so far down, that it never had a chance of coming out. That dirty little secret was like a seed. A seed that took root and grew to become a piece of her. When it finally overflows that little spot inside of Lex that it's been buried in for so long now. All secrets come out eventually.

I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the plot it made me think one thing but it turned out to be something else. I love when books have you thinking it’s going one way and then it turns out to be something you never saw coming. This book was well written and the characters were well built. I was totally invested in the characters. This book had me going through all the emotions with the characters.

I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a book with a few surprises.

I enjoyed the audible. The narrator, Sarah Puckett, was very animated and helped to bring the characters to life.

WOW

Losing a piece of me is an amazing second chance love story. Striker and Lex both have to overcome some major issues when they are at such a young age. To feel the pain and confusion they both went through was heartbreaking to say the least, but watching them get through them and be stronger on the other side for both of them was such a joy to see. Both the author and narrator did wonderful with this book and I am excited to see what else they have to offer.

A Passionate Love Story!

A second chance romance with heaps of angst, lust and passion. Lex & Stryker's character's & narrative are bursting with chemistry, depth & vividly exemplified. I love the flashbacks of Lex & Stryker's high school memories. Lies, secrets, unexpected twists ravelled into a candied sweet thrill.
My preference is duel narration, however Sarah Puckett narrates this story in a way that you don't realize it's just one narrator. Sarah has the ability to transcend into divergent voices of female and male characters. I've listened to another audiobook by this narrator and she is fabulous at switching voices to reflect variant ones.
