Publisher's summary

Ten years ago, my high school crush found me during senior finals week in the student parking lot with my car decorated with items you find behind a drugstore counter and a "Most Likely to..." banner that would make a pro blush. And by "pro", I don't mean golf.

In under an hour, everything I knew about myself was turned upside down and inside out, just as our high school career was in its final hours.

Then again, he's the high school quarterback. He's used to performing when the clock's running out.

Me? I perform well under pressure, too.

But not when Will Lotham is about to kiss me.

Or is he?

Little Miss Perfect is a prequel to the events that take place in Fluffy, New York Times best-selling author Julia Kent's new book.

A fun prequel novella to Fluffy

Overall 4 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 3.5 stars

Little Miss Perfect is a short and funny prequel to Fluffy. It introduces us to Will, Mallory, and her friends, and takes place on the last day of their senior year in high school. Will and Mallory share a stolen moment in the parking lot before their last final exam, and they realize that there's much more to the other than they thought. It's sweet and all kinds of teenage awkward as these two dance around each other. It just scratches the surface of who these characters are, and though it's not necessary to listen to/read this prior to Fluffy, it does add a fun extra layer to the story.

The novella is told entirely from Mallory's POV and Erin Mallon couldn't have been more perfectly cast. She captures Mallory's quirkiness, vulnerability, and confusion so well, but also does an amazing job voicing Will. She is one of the few narrators who I enjoy hearing both her male and female voices.

I'm excited to find out what happens to Will and Mallory 10 years later in Fluffy!

Loved it!

If you are looking for a good rom-com, you will find it in this prequel to Fluffy.

Mallory and Will are in their last weeks of high school and both fighting for the title of valedictorian. Little Miss Perfect takes us through them graduating and going their separate ways. You can meet back up with them in 10 years with the next book...Fluffy.

This book/audio is packed with all of the banter and humor that Julia Kent is known for. The story is told from Mallory’s point of view and Erin Mallon does a spectacular job! I laughed all the way through this book!

Is this my Senior year in high school? 🤔

Julia Kent has a wicked sense of humor. If you have listened or read anything from her before you know what I mean. All of her main female characters are relatable. They are all flawed in the best way. They always get into situations that everyday women would get into.

I loved Mallory and her inner monologue. She had the best friends and she just did not know how to act when her crush popped up out of nowhere. I enjoyed the conversation she had with Will. Will seems like a guy that puts on this mask for everyone. He spoke about how he is doing things for him parents aside from himself. I want to know more about will and I would love to know what he is thinking.

I enjoyed Erin Mallon's narration. She had all the inflections and made me believe I was Mallory in high school. I actually was when it came to my crush without my friends desecrating my car. ☺️😀

Cute and Funny

For the brainy girl that was awkward in high school that was love struck by the quarter back that didn't know she existed, 10 years later she meets Will Lothom again.

Time flashes back to the awkward moments and reliving the past and all the peer pressure of years ago.

Erin Mallon execute this story with mean girl excellence, and the fantastic timing to tickle your funny bone.

Cute and Funny Prequel!

I really enjoyed this quick, and entertaining prequel to Fluffy. In short order, Julia Kent made me totally fall for Will and Mallory. Their sweet, and awkward encounter was hilarious, and I loved how they connected after being in totally different circles all thru high school. They realized there was so much more about each other that they never considered and now really liked. Erin Mallon did a great job embodying these characters and setting the stage for all the fun and excitement to come. I love having this backstory and know it will only make listening to Fluffy even better!
