Summary

Charlie hates the holidays, and this year is shaping up to be her worst yuletide ever. Her boyfriend has left her for his personal trainer, her flat is out of bounds after a gas leak, and her mother has gone to spend Christmas in Melbourne with her fifth husband. Finding herself single, mildly concussed and temporarily homeless, Charlie hesitantly agrees to dust off her wellies and spend the festive season in Devon, looking after Cosy Canine Cottages, her cousin Jez's dog-care centre.

However, her plans for a quiet rural Christmas with only the four-legged friends for company are dashed as soon as she meets Malcolm the deaf Great Dane, Hugo, his gorgeous (but engaged) owner, and Cal, the undeniably attractive but unbearably haughty and patronising local vet....

So much fun

A great story with characters you wish you could see . The main characters are believable and also easy to like . Although it is set around Christmas I have listened to it several times and two of those were not around the festive period .

Absolutely loved it!

Usually I'm loath to read anything too yucky and romantic sounding , but took a chance as a dog lover on this. So pleased I did -really warm and funny. A cosy winter tale.
Dismayed not to find anymore from Cox!

Cringed my way through it

Didn’t find the protagonist very likeable or credible. Irritated by the repetitive use of “just this side of...” description which made me cringe. Some of the supposed funnier parts of the book just felt very contrived. Overall, a disappointing listen.

Ok bit tame

Have to admit i had to make listen to the book although modern and quite amusing this book never really got me that interested in it and i found myself skipping some bits sorry not for me.
