Publisher's summary

Genevieve is a lawyer, not a babysitter, and certainly not a dog trainer.

She is just about to become a full barrister, a British litigating attorney, when her law mentor dies unexpectedly. She is shuffled off to another barrister, one who’s nothing at all like her kind and decent former mentor, and then she is assigned the office’s worst case: Arthur Finch-Hatten, six feet and four inches of ripped, loaded, hot English nobleman who is wasting his life and his inherited estate so audaciously that his younger brother is suing him for control of their family’s earldom. There is a darn good chance that Arthur will lose everything, even his crazed, badly behaved puppy.

Unless he shapes up.

Gen’s new boss hasn’t been able to convince Arthur to mend his ways. His uncle’s lectures haven’t had any effect on his depraved debauchery and lavish lifestyle.

The only way for Genevieve to make partner is to win Arthur’s case, and the only way to win his case and save his earldom is to keep him from spending his days hungover in bed and his nights pouring Cristal on drunk, naked women before flying off in his private jumbo jet to the next party.

Arthur is enough to make any woman need a stiff drink.

Love this!

A wonderful audio of Stiff Drink Arthur Duet Book 1. This is the story of Arthur Finch-Hatten, who we met in Working Stiff. He’s strong, smart, and reliable. And an Earl. But is being accused by his younger brother of wasting his inheritance. His new Barrister is Genevieve, an American raised British born woman with her own challenges. I can’t say enough good things about this book, and know that you will have to read or listen to the next book for the rest of the story! Great job Blair Babylon, and to John Lane for wonderful narration!

Blair Babylon tells another wonderful story!

This is Stiff Drink: Runaway Billionaires: Arthur Duet written by Blair Babylon. I haven’t met a Blair Babylon book that I didn’t love! Genevieve has been assigned a man-child to basically babysit and turn his playboy reputation around before he loses it all. Will she succeed ? Will Arthur, the man-child, change his ways in time? How hard can this really be? Lmao! Don’t miss it!!

Drunk on John Lane’s voice

Whew! This book is one of my all time favorites of Blair Babylon, but add John Lane narrating it for over 10 hours and I’m hooked! John is a real live British speaking person who truly brings the characters alive. He nails Arthur’s voice, both is regular voice and his Dom voice. He can read to me anytime in that Dom voice! He even has Gen’s southern US accent down.

I highly recommend this audiobook! The book itself has all the best things I love about Blair’s writing in it. It’s detailed, lengthy, nuanced and well researched. I love how developed her characters are; you actually feel like you know them.

The best part is that it doesn’t necessary follow the meet-cute, dancing around each other, get together, have a fight, make up and live happily ever after story line that are often out there. This story line takes twists and turns and just when you think something is going to happen- she throws you a curveball.

I can’t wait until the conclusion of this duet is released on audio so I can listen to John read to me some more!!

This book has it all!

One of my all time favorite stories! This book is brilliant as it is a Regency romance, with a bit of spy novel, all rolled into a contemporary romance of two strong willed characters. I love the character build-up, both in their backstories and interactions. Arthur and Gen have such depth and nuance I want to move to London to be their friends. And John Lane brings it all to life with his smooth and sexy delivery!
I truly can not wait to dive into part two and find how it all concludes!!

More than meets the eye with Arthur

I’ve read many of Blair Babylon’s books, including this one, and I enjoyed listening to this just as much as I did reading it. Arthur is cast as a rake and cad, ending up with pictures of him in very compromising positions. His brother is suing him for the earldom. After Genevieve’s former mentor, Horace, dies unexpectedly she finds herself in charge of Arthur’s legal case. There is chemistry between these two as they try to keep him out of trouble. He’s got a big secret just waiting to cause trouble. Looking forward to hearing the next book in this duet. I enjoyed the narrator and how he brought the story to life.

Arthur & Genevieve!!!

Genevieve is a lawyer but she is now given the task of let's just say man-sitter. After an unfortunate event she is now tasked with Arthur who is very rich, a playboy, a trouble maker perhaps? How is this young lawyer going to shape up this sexy, alpha, pain in the rear? Will Arthur get his way with this beautiful young lawyer? I enjoyed this couple, nothing was fast and it flowed smoothly. I read the book and the audible version was so much more it seems. The narrator does a fantastic job and is clear spoken. It brings the story to life.

This book is a rollercoaster

This book is a rollercoaster. You often laugh; sometimes you’re sad; the rest of the time, your heart beat faster, either because of the romance or the action. And all the time, you swoon because…ah, Arthur…

The characters are complex and extremely interesting, shaped out by a past that you spend two books discovering. Gen is the lead female character. Insecure, loyal and hard-working, she ends up in a fake relationship with Lord Arthur, a bad boy from nobility who’s hiding a big secret. But it’s for work: she’s a barrister, and he’s facing a lawsuit because his brother wants to take his earldom.

Between the legal shennanigans, the seduction between Arthur and Genevieve, and the thrilling suspense, I was never bored, and I couldn’t stop listening to it.

The narrator does an amazing job with the various accents and voices. I really enjoyed his work here.

The only real flaw I’ve seen is the repetition. Some details are given more than once, and since I have a good memory, I felt that I was seen as too stupid to remember what was said before.

But it was a very good audiobook, and I can’t wait to read or listen to the second part of the duet.
