Publisher's summary

Where I Am is a standalone new adult romance.

Astoria

He was the man of my dreams, or so I thought. I wasn't sure how I'd react when I saw him again. I planned on avoiding him, but our small hometown made that impossible. The years apart melted away when I saw him. Time hadn't changed my feelings, after all. Jealousy flared anew. My heart, which I thought had healed, was back to being in a million pieces.

Now I'm right where I don't want to be - in front of him with tears in my eyes.

Parker

Everything isn't always as it seems. One moment could cause a ripple effect with unexpected consequences that last for years. Not a day had gone by that I didn't think of her. When our paths crossed again, I knew I had to tell her the truth. Arguing was inevitable, but I'd rather fight for her than face another day without her. My heart always belonged to her.

Where I am is standing in front of her - asking for another chance.

Incredible

Give me book with a second chance romance and some suspense and I am a happy reader! Michelle Dare has done it again with this story of Astoria and Parker. These two separated four years ago due to a misunderstanding. When Astoria graduates from college and moves back home, it is inevitable that she would run into Parker, but what would happen when she did? With a secret Parker has kept for four years, a relationship that is strong with another woman, will Tora see his loyalty and love lies with her? These two go on an emotional journey that make you feel, revelations will tear at your heart and situations will become deadly. With the best of friends, and the strongest of love this book will resonate with you long after you finish.

It is so important to make sure the narration of a book like this has a performance that will pull you in and give you the feels to go with the story. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel will draw every emotion out of you and leave you with that incredible book hangover. The portrayal is raw and dynamic, one you do not want to miss.

A dangerously sexy romance

Romantic, sexy, sizzling, suspenseful and dangerous are all words that describe this story. There is something for everyone. Where I Am is a page turner that you won't put down.

Astoria and Parker have a rollercoaster romance. Astoria believes she is done with Parker, but her beliefs are soon shattered. Their romance is not a typical one, but it is sizzling hot!

Blaire has had an abusive past. The man who harmed her is a dangerous man, who can never be trusted. He is obsessed with Blaire and will stop at nothing to have her.

Sly and Eve are friends of Astoria and Parker. Their stable relationship is what Astoria and Parker both desire.

So many characters, so many twists, so much gut wrenching suspense makes Where I Am a must read.

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are amazing. The chemistry between them enhances the characters and their emotions towards each other. Tor Thom's baritone voice is amazing to listen to. His distinction between each character truly brings out the different personalities. Charley Ongel can easily shift from one female character to the next and change her pitch just as fast. Ms. Ongel narrates the female characters personalities just as I would have imagined them. The narration of Where I Am by this duet enhances the experience of the story and created a movie in your mind.

Good audiobook

I loved the first book in this series, Where I End, so this book had huge shoes to fill, so to speak. This book as well touches on sensitive subjects that could be triggers for some readers. I enjoyed the story but it felt a little forced. Like there was too much resistance between Parker & Astoria, almost like an unnecessary amount of back & forth. The narration was wonderful!

A little love, history and suspense!

A book that contains everything in a romance including suspense! The only downside to the story (and this is only personal opinion) is that one of the early conflict resolutions in the story was a little fast. Otherwise, I liked the story and am headed to Where I End by Michelle Dare next. I also loved the combo of Tor Thom and Charley Ongel in duet style narrating. They are great together and I have added them to my "look for this narrator(s)" list when searching for books.

Astoria and Parker

Where I Am by Michelle Dare
This second chance romance is the first book I have read by Michelle Dare, but definitely won’t be the last. This book flowed and I was hooked from beginning to end. This book was full of suspense and heartache along with some great steamy love scenes. The Narrators, Tor Thom and Charley Ongel really make this story pop. I highly recommend and look forward to read/listen to more from this author.

The True Meaning of Love and Friendship

Michelle Dare is a master at pulling the reader into the story from the first page. In Where I Am she rips out the heart of the heroine, as well as the hero, in the first chapter and then masterfully pieces their shattered lives back together again.
Essentially this story is one of undying love, miscommunication, and the meaning of true friendship. Parker may not be the perfect boyfriend but he proves himself, on more than one occasion, to be the truest of friends. He showed that side in Cy and Evie's story, Where I End, and again in his own book. Astoria (Tora to Parker) fell head over heels for Parker and he for her. A cruel twist of fate and a misread situation tears the couple apart before she leaves for college. Forward four years later and Tora has returned to her hometown, hoping not to run into Parker, but deep down longing to see him.
Secrets are revealed, and hearts are slowly pieced back together, only to be put in the ultimate danger. A situation so dangerous that all of the major players face possibly lethal consequences.
Ms. Dare pulls out all the emotions in this story. I absolutely loved Tora and Parker's story. I love the dual narration of this book. Tor Thom is the voice of Parker I heard in my head when I first read this book. Paired with Charley Ongel as Tora, they ARE the couple in this book.
