Publisher's summary

The twisted and intriguing storytelling that you loved in Consequences and Infidelity continues with an all-new alpha anti-hero in the dark romance series Web of Sin, by New York Times best-selling author Aleatha Romig.

I am...

That’s no longer an easy statement.

Who am I?

Since Sterling Sparrow, a man so handsome he takes my breath away and so infuriating he pushes me in ways I’ve never known, came barreling into my life like a category five hurricane, I can’t even finish that simple statement.

In 26 years I’ve lived three lives - been three different people.

Renee. Kennedy. And now, Araneae.

They say that I was named after the spider to make me resilient.

Sparrow would then be a bird.

Birds eat spiders.

I prefer to consider myself a cat. It ups my chance of surviving the world I’m now living.

Maybe that’s only wishful thinking because according to Sterling, my number of lives is running out.

There are people who want to harm me, to learn the secrets they claim that I possess.

The only person to offer me protection is Sterling Sparrow.

Can I trust a man who willingly put me in the sight of danger?

What is real?

What are lies?

Have you been Aleatha’d?

Lies is book two of the Web of Sin trilogy.

So good!

This 2nd book in the Sparrow Webs Series was very good. It gives us some of the background to help understand the dynamics that have been going on. I loved the friendships between Sterling and Patrick and Reid. That kind of loyalty and trust is so important, especially for them. The relationship between Sterling and Araneae drives me crazy and makes me smile at the same time! But that is what makes a good relationship, the differences and the attraction and the balance of it. I can't wait for the next book to see where it goes. By the way.. have the next book ready because you will definitely want to start it immediately!

Great 2nd book

Love these narrators and have always enjoyed Savannah Peachwood. This story just gets better and better. I am loving how Areanea is starting to find her voice with Sterling.

Story is getting interesting

Seconden book in the series, story is getting started for real and is drawing me in. I’m liking the MCs more and more.
Point of criticism is the repetitive wording like the use of his full name the entire time. Yeah, yeah the guy is large than life, I get it!

Love the book

Not so much the audio. The male narrator did a terrible female voice and the female narrator wasn’t much better. I think it would have been better in duet.

Okay wow! This series continues to get better! Araneae still questions the tangled web that Sterling continues to weave! It’s so hard to determine what the truth actually is, but I am rooting for Sterling! Can’t wait for the final conclusion! Savannah Peachwood is fabulous and makes me want to cry 😢 sometimes. This is a must read!

5 It’s Getting Twistier and Twistier Stars!!!

Once again, Ms. Roming has picked the perfect narrators for her story. I literally consumed this when it hit my kindle and I 1-clicked when it became available on audible... there isn't one of her books that I haven't listened to after reading them because I get so much more from the story by listening because I just know I'm going to find even more things I love about the story.

Well, what can I say…since the end of Secrets I’ve been anxiously awaiting Lies because that cliffie!!! And while we do get some revelations in this next book in this series, I have so many questions I need answers to…

Having said that, I’m so in love with both Araneae and Sterling. While their relationship started out rather tumultuously and very aggressively on Sterling’s part, it’s become very clear to me that while he’s always considered Araneae his, the depth of the emotions he now feels for her transcends any previous relationships. This woman sets him on fire!!! Oh and Araneae for as much as she claims she doesn’t want to be part of this world and be with this dynamic man…her heart and body have something different to say about it!!!

There’s an intense burning chemistry between these two that wherever they are it soon becomes combustible….whether it’s while they’re getting down and dirty or arguing about what Sterling expects and/or allows our heroine to do!

As I stated up above, there’s several revelations in this book but not enough that I have any idea of how it’s all going to come to a head. There’s so many players involved and deep dark secrets that are threatening to come to the surface and I’m sure if Sterling Sparrow has his way, nothing and no one will get in his way in claiming the beautiful Araneae!

Ms. Roming has once again given us a book that enthralled me from beginning to end. Her ability to weave this story and the Chicago Underworld and all the players both good and bad have captured me and I am once again left clamoring for the next and final book so it all comes full circle and we get ALL THE ANSWERS!!!!

phew

struggled to finish is more apt.
idiotic heroine, exasperating exchanges between main characters. I had to fight the urge to skip chapters. story tends to drag. bith narrators did just that narrate. I enjoy my books when I actually escape into the world of the characters and forget it's being narrated. this book is not it for me.

Interesting story

This was a suspenseful story. Just not enough romance for me. Male narrator needs to work on doing female voices. Love Savannah Peachwood. She is one of my favorites!

Good Mix of Romance and Suspense

I really like Savannah Peachwood's voice. The second this audiobook started I was happy to be listening to her because I love the way she sounds. She is quite lovely to have in your ears. Sometimes I do feel like Alexander Cendese's voice is a little too deep and I have to slow down the audiobook to really hear everything he's saying clearly, but that could be a personal issue.

Lies was a good continuation and I liked that it gives us a recap of what happened right at the end of the first book. Things are definitely interesting in this series and I like these characters a lot. Their relationship isn't perfect and there is some push and pull between them that I enjoyed. Its also great seeing little pieces of Araneae's past and what Sparrow knows. Definitely looking forward to the last book.
