Publisher's summary

I named myself. I took the word animal out of their mouths, wore it like a badge of honor, then shoved it down their throats. I've fought for what I have. I see you coming before you even know you want a piece of me. In a city riddled with warring families, I'll rise up between them. My people, the broken souls I gather, will have power by the time I'm done with them.

I protect mine.

Him. My brother, Nix.

Her. The girl that is the only home I've ever had. She knows me.

I'm coming at you, sweetness. Stay ready.

Benjamin Charles gives a stellar performance (and moved to my top five sexy as hell book boyfriends!!
This writer has such an original story style I am looking forward to more from her!! And Benjamin of course!!

Thoroughly Enjoyed!

Intriguing story. It's gritty, but in the best way.
Awesome narration - really, I'm about to search for my next book by narrator.
Romance is well developed. No insta-love ridiculousness.
Intimate scenes are gritty too, as they would need to be in a story like this, but hat's off to the author - they are well placed and not over done. They are written in the modern way with lots of frank details.

The first book was pretty good, this one is at least a shiny star better. The story is about the struggles and loyalties of kids who are truly on their own due to missing parents for one reason or another.

There is no cliffhanger but room for another addition in the series. hoping for that. Happy listening.

Beautifully Heartbreaking

What a journey! I think I’ve cried more through this than I have in the last few years. The story is well presented and you can’t help but feel love and compassion for the characters. I knew the story would end well, but getting there was rough. I can’t wait to discover what else Debra Anastasia has written. I highly recommend Havoc if you’re looking for a love story that’s not cliche.

Havoc YES!

5 STARS!! This book was the best. Animal and T to hear their story draws you in. Benjamin Charles did an awesome job and it was nice move to slide in Zachary Webber who voice I adore. I can listen to this again.

A story full of action!!

What made the experience of listening to Havoc the most enjoyable?

The audiobook experience was the best of Havoc. Rose Dioro & Benjamin Charles did a phenomenal job with their narrations. I loved the accent in Benjamin's performance, and his tone of voice was strong and dangerous, just like Animal. Rose's inflections were in point, showing a quiet but strong T in her voice, bringing the perfect contrast to her personality.
And the few chapters narrated by Zachary Webber were amazing. I never imagined getting Nix' POV in this book, it was a great surprise.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Havoc?

My fav scenes were the ones with a lot of action. T was a badass and the description in the book was pretty accurate: "A ballerina made of violence". I loved the description of the fights, they were stressful and full of action.

Any additional comments?

I loved how protective Animal was of the inner circle of people in his life: T, Nix, Becca, Nix' sister Ember and Merck. I loved his loyalty to all of them and how they were loyal to him as well. I loved the dangerous plot around this whole story and how all of them had a very important role in Havoc. But what I loved the most is how Nix and I overcome all their ugly pasts and became strong characters in the present, ready to kill and be killed to protect their loved ones.

Wonderful story

loved the story and the narrators did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. Debra Anastasia did not disappoint and enjoyed the storyline from the beginning to the end.

Ode to T, the ballerina of violence

An okay follow up, but you really need to listen to book 1 (Mercy, a phenomenal 5⭐️ listen). This book weirdly spends too much time on the troubled childhood of Animal and T, while at the same time being thin on key parts of their past & present stories. Worst is the lack of romance or chemistry.

Missing details from the past: Listen to book 1 first for a true appreciation of tough as nails assassin T and to soften the blow of Animal the man-ho (if not for making him so likable in book 1, his moronic failure to bow down to the greatness of T would be unforgivable). Book 1 also has a better balance of dark and humor. Sadly, hilarious Henry is MIA in this book and Becca & Nix don’t have much screen time.

Missing details in the present: I was thankful that Animal’s criminal empire is mostly glossed over, because I don’t care for MCs that truly do bad deeds. Still, I couldn’t entirely suspend disbelief and roll with them running drugs and women “humanely” just because the author insisted the community benefited from their crime. There is one amazing rescue scene with action and bad@ssery… but then it’s like the author rushed to finish, skipping past how a character escapes the bad guys and then just informing us in the final hour that the bad guys were taken down.

Biggest downer: this was supposed to be a romance, but there is zero chemistry between Animal and T because T’s feelings are unrequited until the final 1.5 hrs. When the first H/h scene finally happens, it’s almost fade to black… in contrast to the unfortunate, distasteful and gross scene between Animal and a skank… that happens despite Animal knowing about T’s feelings. Tonally, it fell completely flat to glorify the meaningless get together and gloss over Animal and T’s first time.

If you think of this as more general fiction rather than romance, there’s multiple emotion-filled storylines. The backstories about poverty, homelessness, mental illness, and foster homes are heartbreaking and powerful. And, T is a complex and compelling heroine worth rooting for.

This was a good read!

I would have like to know what happened with Merk and Ember. All in all it was good.
