Publisher's summary

A magnificent new romance by New York Times best-selling author Emma Chase - available in audio first!

Dean Walker is all about keeping life simple. He’s effortlessly talented and intelligent - spending his summers playing drums in the local band and the rest of the year teaching high school in the same Jersey town where he grew up. He likes his love life simple too, enjoying the commitment-free hook-ups his good looks and sexy charm have always made oh so easy.

Then he meets Lainey Burrows. And his simple, easy life gets turned upside down.

One wild one-night stand was all it was ever supposed to be, so Lainey is shocked when she discovers that her sizzling summer fling is also her son’s new math teacher. But that’s nothing compared to the most unexpected twist of all - their hot hook-up left Lainey knocked up, and now they’re about to become parents. Together.

What ensues is an addictive, insatiable, sweet and tender romance that won’t be simple, but it will be more than worth the fight.

Featured Article: The Best Women Narrators to Listen to Right Now

One of the biggest questions listeners have when it comes to approaching a new audiobook is whether or not they'll enjoy the narration style. This is understandable, as audiobooks are at least a few hours long (with many clocking in at 20 hours long—or more!), and sticking with one person's voice for that time period can feel like a big commitment. We rounded up some of the best female narrators with a robust list of audiobooks under their belts.

I’ve Got It For The Teacher!

Why oh why did I think it was a wise decision to start this audio after midnight thinking I’ll just listen to a chapter or two before going to sleep. Big mistake! BIG! I fell in love with the characters straight away that I was saying to myself, one more chapter, just one more chapter.

I’m kicking myself that I haven’t read or listened to the previous book but I didn’t feel left out in the slightest. Dean Walker is not only intelligent and a gifted drummer but he is the hottie maths teacher working at a New Jersey high school. The last thing he was expecting was the new kid’s mother - expecting! One guess who the baby daddy is?!! Lainey Burrows was just what he needed in his life. She was vivacious and vibrant and zestful. I adored her. She was an amazing mum to a teen already but I was excited for her to have another little baby she will share with Dean.

If you have listened to the first book, you will love listening to this one two. The same narrators are back and they do an amazing job with these characters. If it’s your first time like me, take the chance, I recommend it highly.

Wonderful

Getting Played was such a great story. I’m sure if I only read this book, it would have been amazing. However, with Zachary and Andi’s narration, they took it to another level. They were both phenomenal and perfect for this book. They have such good timing and their voices keep you so engaged in the story. I could have listened to them forever.

It was great to go back to Lakeside. Dean gets his story. He’s a math teacher at his hometown high school and during the summer he plays in a band. He meets Lainey after one of his gigs and then they go their separate ways; Neither knows where the other lives or their last names. She is a lifestyle blogger and after a few months, ends up moving to Lakeside to renovate a home for her blog. Oh, she also has a 14-year-old high schooler.

I don’t want to say much about how this goes but let’s just say after Lainey gets to town, they finally see each other and Dean is in for quite the surprise in more ways then one.

I pre-ordered this and I’m so glad I did. This is one I want to be able to listen to over and over. This audio is a feel-good audio. The perfect summer read. I highly recommend this.

HOLY SWEET ORGASM!!

OK so I don’t write many book reviews unless I am completely blown away by the story or hate it.... this book was completely orgasmic!!!! I LOVED IT So HARD!! I mean it was so HOT that if you are reading it or listening to the audio book in public it would be embarrassingly uncomfortable. The story was sweet while at times I found myself laughing out loud to my husband’s complete bafflement. The narrators Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber were sublime and utterly perfect in bringing this story to vivid life. Do yourselves a favor and read this book and spend the extra cash on listening to these amazing narrators.

5 Star Love Story

I laughed, I cried, then really cried at the beautiful ending. Lany and Dean had a one night stand during the summer. They lost contact because they didn't expect anything but a one night stand and they didn't exchange phone numbers. Three months later they ran into each other again when they realized that Dean was Lany's son Janson's teacher and what happens afterward is a wonderfully funny memorable love story.

Lainey and Dean

Second book in the Getting series, with another adorable couple who turn a chance meeting into a lot more. Great characters, including the supporting cast!
Fabulous narration as always from both Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber.

A Lighthearted, Sweet, Funny Listen!

I really had a great time listening to this book. The narrators were great. They truly kept me engaged. The story itself was entertaining. It was sweet, funny, sexy, and full of emotion.

I loved Getting Schooled (the previous book), I didn't think it could get better than Garrett and Emma, but Dean and Lainey have jumped to the front of the line. They had such great chemistry. The liked each other as well as being attracted to each other. I was cheering them on to find each other, then to get together, then to stay together, survive the hiccup, and move to their HEA. I loved the interaction between Dean and Lainey's son, Jason. I also enjoyed the way he was with his students. Dean really stepped up his game in this book.

The secondary characters were awesome. Lainey's sisters, Garrett's brothers, the high school principal, and Dean's Gram to name a few.

Zachary Weber and Andi Arndt gave each character their own personality and made them come alive. This Audiobook was fast paced, lighthearted, slightly irreverent, not only witty, but downright funny. When the last word was spoken, I was left with a smile on my face.

I am looking forward to other books in the series. At least I hope so with all the brothers and sisters Garrett and Lainey have that have been introduced to us.
