Publisher's summary

British bad boy Sterling Quinn needs a wife. After his great-grandfather, the former prince something or another, passes and leaves him millions, he's shocked to discover the massive inheritance has a clause - he needs to clean up his image and be married in order to receive his millions.

When word gets out that this hottie has royal blood running through his veins, and is on the prowl for Mrs. Right, crazy ex-girlfriends, school-yard crushes, and thousands of other hopeful women flock to his doorstep.

What he needs is a manager to help him sort through the clutter.

Enter Camryn Palmer, PR executive. Camryn has had a front row seat to her friend Sterling's revolving-door of a love-life for years. But when she's hired to clean up his image and manage the hordes of women cruising through his bedroom door, she's stuck between a rock and a hard place. Literally.

Yes, she has secret fantasies about being the one to keep his bed warm - what woman doesn't? He's sinfully attractive, and she wants to kiss that cocky English accent right off his lips, but she's got a job to do. She's a professional through and through, and besides, an arranged marriage could never be a happy one. Right?

A Good One Time Listen

Would you listen to The Fix Up again? Why?

Unfortunately no. Having only listened to, and not read The Fix Up. I have to rely on the narrator/s to interpret the story. Cami came off as nieve, wishy-washy. I prefer a charactor to start off weak. But I want to see them grow and change throughout the story. Not remain the same. The build up in the relationship between the Cami and Sterling needed to grow.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked Sterling's devotion to his mother.

What does Ava Erickson and John Lane bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Not having read the book I really can't answer this. I really liked John's voice and the sincerity he brought to Sterling's charactor. Ava, even though she has an expressive voice; I don't feel she did Cami's charactor justice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and no. Yes because if you didn't you could get lost in the uneven flow of the story. No because it was some times frustrating to listen to Cami's thought process.

Any additional comments?

Sadly I will be returning this book. It's not one that I would want to listen to again. Although I hope to give Kendall's other books a try. Sometimes it's just not a good fit between story and reader/listener. No sense in condeming a writer on the first go around.

If you like a short, mindless read (or listen)

Would you try another book from Kendall Ryan and/or Ava Erickson and John Lange ?

I like some of KR's books just fine, this was just not one of her better attempts. John's great. The Ava has a nice voice but she is much better suited, vocally, to teen romance ... she just has the wrong voice for this.

What could Kendall Ryan have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Things made no sense. The top PR firm sends over a rep who, after 5 days of this story being "major" news and hordes of women stalking this guy (who she admitted has seen downstairs in their first meet) ... she says she has no idea what's going on? Has to be briefed? No PR person worth their salt is so freakin clueless. And, might I add... she's 10K in debt because of an EX. Just trying to make minimum payments on credit cards makes her two months late on rent? On what planet? I'd get that maybe 100K in credit card debt or even 50K, but 10K? Bah! The author's either clueless or no one edited this for reality!!

What aspect of Ava Erickson and John Lange ’s performance would you have changed?

Ava's voice is all wrong for this type book.

Could you see The Fix Up being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No, too vapid and implausible. Oh wait... that's Hallmark movie! Maybe, as long as we sanitize the sex...

Any additional comments?

Wait till it's on sale. A good sale. AND YOU'RE SUPER BORED!

A HEA for Cameron and Sterling from Hitched books.

Though this book is not listed as part of the Imperfect Love series, it should be. In Hitched: Volume One, Hitched: Volume Two, and Hitched: Volume Three we meet and come to know Cameron and Sterling (Olivia and Noah's best friends, respectively).

Sterling has found himself in a very similar situation as his friend Noah: he must get married in order to gain his inheritance. Despite being a hot shot divorce attorney, he could really use the money to give his mother the best care available. Though he is attracted to Cameron, she had been off limits to him. His history and profession have left him incredibly jaded towards marriage and Cameron is definitely not the kind of girl that has one night stands. She's the kind of woman looking to settle down. Now things have changed and he finds himself in the market for a wife, something he isn't hating nearly as much as he thought he would, so long as Cameron is the one that will be walking down the isle.

Cameron works for Olivia and Noah's firm and has been assigned to Sterling's case in order to get him married off within the requisite six months. What she doesn't expect is to find herself wanting to be the lucky woman. She desperately needs to succeed in this project for the $10,000 bonus she'll get upon completion. That money would finally get her out of the debt her jerk of an ex left her in. Despite her growing attraction and affection for Sterling, she has a job to do and she is determined.

Over the course of the book, both Cameron and Sterling come to terms with their desire for each other. While Sterling is trying to find a way to show her that it's her he wants, Cameron is trying to keep her feelings at bay to avoid the inevitable heartbreak at the end of the six months.

This book features a HEA ending with no cliffhanger. It is not necessary to read the Imperfect Love books prior to reading this book, but that is when Cameron and Sterling both first appear. Ava Erickson and John Lane did a great job of narrating the book. They both did well with the different accents of the two protagonists.

awesomely frustrating and super sweet all in one.

Sterling Quinn a British playboy who is a divorce attorney who doesn't believe in true love. Who finds himself needing to get married to obtain his inheritance. Camryn Palmer who is all about true love. She was hired to be a PR to help Sterling find a wife.
Trying to fight chemistry and sexual tension between them they end up finding love together.

Boy these two, they killed me. Feeling the same thing for one another the whole time and both to dang stubborn to just say how they feel and what they want. They had such a chemistry you couldn't denie. Such a great book. Some really sexy scenes and super sweet moments. Unexpected love is always great. This books was equally frustrating and awesomely sweet. I loved it so much. Definitely recommend it to all.

Typical story - nothing new

I was tired of the story line but enjoyed the British narrator. It was ok and I dread to finish it.

Sigh. Cliche. Old. Slow.

It’s the same old plot. But like the worst version. Theses characters were likeable but very inconsistent. The female was strong but also weak, whiny and lacked confidence. The male character was nice enough but not deep or built out. The story was hard to get through. I slogged through it like walking in wet cement. It’s obvious from the start that they’ll get together but neither thinks they can date? Whyyyyyy. It’s idiotic. Plus the bff doing the back stabbing shit? What was that plot line? Super confusing. Glad it was free.

No chemistry….

While the story was average, the lack of chemistry between the narrators made this a difficult one to finish. The story of Sterling and Cameron felt like it was just put together without much thought to substance.
