Publisher's summary

From USA Today best-selling author Meghan March comes another dangerously sexy alpha hero.

The only permanent thing in my life is the ink I put on my clients.

I drift from city to city, in and out of beds, from one tattoo shop to the next.

Every time I start to put down roots, I rip them up.

Until New Orleans.

Until her.

She's everything I'm not.

Full of fire and life. An innocent where I'm a sinner.

I want to consume her. Protect her. Keep her.

But first I have to escape from beneath these shadows.

Beneath These Shadows is a stand-alone romance set in the world of the Beneath series. You do not have to hear any other books in the series to enjoy it.

THERE'S GREAT.. & WAY BEYOND THAT THERE'S M MARCH

Eden is the illegitimate daughter of a Mob Boss, she's been living in a guilded cage always protected, watched and sheltered.. until she gets news that'll uproot Eden and put her in the middle of New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Alone for the first time, Eden tries hard to fend for herself - but it isn't long before she's being rescued by a handsome, sexy, tattooed Alpha named Bishop. And this is the start of a beautiful well-paced relationship where time and time again Bishop will rescue the damsel he can't stop thinking about. Eden has secrets.. but it turns out she's not the only one.

I had this book on pre-order for quite a while because Meghan March never fails to blow me away with her very addictive plot lines where she creates such vivid descriptive scenes and fills them with warm friendly loveable characters. Her Heroes are possessive, hot, dirty talking Alphas - and Bishop also had a man bun too. Although it was instant attraction between Eden and Bishop their romance took time to build and develop.. and there were some sexy scenes between these two. Good secondary characters, dual POV and the awesome narration by Andi and Sebastian was everything I'd hoped for from two well loved narrators.

Worth a credit? Absolutely YES.. and I tried very hard to listen to this in one go but unfortunately life had a habit of interfering in my guilty pleasure.

Great listen

I absolutely loved the unique plot of this book. The NOLA setting with the dark and broody tattoo'd Bishop and the crime boss daughter, Eden. It was hot and steamy and sweet and romantic as well as exciting and thrilling.

Andi and Sebyo obviously rocked it. Everything they touch turns to gold.

The only book of this series that I didn’t adore

Although the narration is still excellent, the story fell flat for me compared to the other Beneath books. The hero, Bishop, was cold and distant for the first half of the story. He didn’t come off as heroic so much as just weirdly always around when she was in trouble.

The heroine was unrelateable as she was too sheltered and naive and the situations she got herself into were too out there. It was all explained for the story but felt very unrealistic and tough to sympathize with.

Overall the book is ok but because the other Beneath books are excellent, this one comes up short in comparison.

Same as Book 1

Any additional comments?

This book is the same story line as Beneath This Mask. It has a slightly different ending but it's pretty much the same story with different names. A run away rich girl trying to hide. She even lives at the same apartment Charlie did. I have loved all her books but this one was a big let down since it's pratically the same.

could not finish bc of narrator

I love this book, it's one of my favorites and I have read several from Meghan March. Bishop is hot, sexy, alpha, broody, etc and the voice of the male narrator did not capture this at all. I was so disappointed in listening that I stopped and just re-read in order to keep loving this story.
