Publisher's summary

Genius brain surgeon Patrick McCloud never thought he'd fall in love, let alone get married. He and Will Patterson are two years overdue for their honeymoon, and although romance doesn't come naturally to Patrick, he's determined to make it perfect.

Will works himself to the bone helping others and dealing with his family, who bring the drama nonstop. A tropical getaway without the usual shenanigans is just what the doctor ordered. But can Will's family leave them in peace? Knowing the Patterson-Molinaro clan, it's not likely...

Will & Patrick's Endless Honeymoon by Leta Blake continues the soapy, sexy fun of the original six part Wake Up Married serial. In Healing, South Dakota, marriage is never boring!

Felt unfinished

I love Will and Patrick, but book 7 left me feeling unsatisfied like I'm missing something or something from the story the last book 6 had a great end, but this one ended in little Lackluster.

Honeymoon Time

This concluding episode of the 'Wake Up Married' series by Leta Blake was offered for review. I requested a free copy and agreed to post a voluntary opinion. I have not listened to the previous episodes but felt I knew enough about the series to still enjoy the honeymoon of Will and Patrick.

After a couple years of marriage, it is now time to plan the honeymoon. Patrick has nervously made all the arrangements for their 10-day trip. But, before they get underway, they have to deal with drama from Will's family, a regular thing for the couple.

I like most of this honeymoon story. The author excels at the banter between the characters. The love Patrick and Will share shines through as well. Once the honeymoon actually gets started, my enjoyment picked up even more.

For my taste, there could have been more honeymoon and less dysfunctional family dynamics. I get that this is to show that Will is incapable of standing up to his mother's emotional manipulation, but it was a bit much. Will's father isn't any better, either.

John Solo does a good narration job. Some of the emotions portrayed were overwrought, but on the whole I liked the performance.

Interrupted

This final installment of Wake Up Married has the guys finally off for their long awaited honeymoon. Of course even that can't be free of family drama. Once again the guys must battle Will's family to make their own way. But all of the struggles helps them remember how much they love each other and how it's all worth the fight.

Adore Will and Patrick!!!

Oh this was fabulous. I could keep reading about their lives forever. John Solo is again superb here, just nailing the voices. He just gets everything so right in this series, especially Patrick who comes across with the perfect mix of sarcasm, dryness and that underlying teddy bear. I loved everything about this series!

I love Patrick and Will...

I'm going to suppose that if you're thinking of getting this book, you're aware that it isn't a standalone and that you have 6 fabulous books to read before this one. So, if you haven't, this is your chance to stop reading because there might be slight spoilers in this review.

I've been following Patrick and Will's story since it first came out and I fell hard for Patrick from the first time we met him and he's still one of my favorite characters ever! Will was a bit harder for me to like, mostly because he was (still kind of is, really) a pushover for his parents and his ex, Ryan. Still, Will grew on me and I could see why Patrick loved him. Plus, their chemistry was electric throughout the series and Leta Blake writes some of the hottest sex scenes ever, so that's always a plus. ;) Joining them on their hard-earned honeymoon was definitely a treat in that sense.

However much I loved Patrick and Will, the downside of this particular book was having Will's parents showing up at the hotel the guys were hiding in. Also, the whole thing with Ryan, who I hated with the fire of a thousand suns and didn't deserve Will's tears or Patrick's charity. I get that the book needed some angst/drama to move things along, but really, I could've done without any of them in it.

John Solo did a fantastic job with his performance. His voice is pleasant and he has consistently delivered a great performance throughout the series, not only giving each character a distinctive voice but showcasing Leta's brilliant writing and humor.

A great final

The perfect mix of fun and serious, with original characters, fucked up family relationships and enough love to light a town.

But there is also a looooooooooooot of Will's mom, and that's the main reason why this didn't get a 5 stars. It seems that Will is still unable to call her on her bullshitty manipulations :/

Oh, well, I still enjoyed the story a lot :P

John Solo does a great job with the narration.

Delightful catch up with Will and Patrick

Story: Lovely continuation to Will & Patrick's story. We get to meet our favorite duo again along with the delightfully zany family and friends. The long looked for honeymoon is finally here and is enjoyed by all (even though it didn't go as our duo wanted exactly).

Narration: John Solo. 'Nuff said. Excellent narration.

Overall: I really enjoyed it though wish it were longer!!! The characters grow on you and you are very happy to visit them (and catch up with the shenanigans). I think Will's uncle need to get his groove on with the sexy traveling nurse. And Hartley needs a HEA! And Patrick is simply very thoughtful -- in his own way. And Will is perfect for getting Patrick so fully and accepting all of him.

It's another fun adventure for Will and Patrick

Even as the original series ended with them in a Happily ever after, the story of Will and Patrick's marriage doesn't end with marriage and love. I am happy Leta Blake kept going on her story and exploring the marriage dynamic of these 2 characters and their dysfunctional family/friends. The backdrop of a honeymoon was sexy and fun, the intrusion of Will's family was funny and entertaining. It's a nice story with plenty of good things found in original series and set up for future stories if Leta Blake continues.

Will's past and journey of self-actualization is key to plot development here. His struggle with alcoholism may have ebbed with sobriety and love for Patrick, but his abusive ex-boyfriend, Ryan, dying from liver failure is an ominous and tragic "what if" for him.
Patrick is growing as well in characterization, he is coming to terms with his own life and opening his heart to having more than just Will. I do want to see them handle having kids; perhaps, Foster kids would be best for them as Adoption law is still skewed in the US and surrogacy appears to scare both of them due to their potential genetic issues of diabetes and autism. I would love to see how Patrick manages his own foster kids with Will.
If Leta does continue with this story, in the next book, Will has to face some hard truths about personal choices with Patrick at the funeral. I can imagine him being a sponsor for Heartily, who, without the emotional support that Patrick provides Will, has a harder road to travel out of a state of victimization from Ryan.

I had mixed feelings toward Owen's advice to Will, from book 6, on what he perceived as "sex addition" and allowing Ryan to operate in an abusive relationship with Heartily. Owen's approach with Will would have failed him, if Patrick wasn't there, so the "wait-until-they-ask" concept of assistance should be reviewed as well. Being "my brother's keeper" is a christian concept that has sadly not been ministered as needed to help those in need. Will is a "do-gooder" as Patrick said, so he shouldn't be held back by the traditionally timid addition and abuse counseling techniques. One of Will's milestones to self-actualization missing is proactive engagement.
One thing I like about this series is that the Will does not internalize his issues alone and Patrick is there for him, not always with a solution, but just always there as his partner.
