Publisher's summary

Moving back to London after a breakup, Clara has a new hair colour, a new apartment, and a new job.

It’s the job she’s always dreamed of. Except, she never dreamed that she’d have to work with him!

Andrew and Clara have history. He’s both the first boy she ever liked and the first boy she ever hated.

Their reconnection is anything but easy. The banter is quick witted, unprofessional, and downright naughty....

Can this pair put their history to rest for the sake of their careers?

More About the History Series

Clara and Andrew have been in love since their childhoods. He's both the first boy she ever liked and the first boy she ever hated. Andrew used to tease Clara when they were younger and now when they are thrust together for work, years later, finally their love has the chance to develop. Now Andrew knows how to tell Clara he loves her without teasing her, but is Clara able to trust him? Andrew wants Clara but Clara just wants to be able to work in peace. That is until they decide to give each other a chance. Their relationship quickly develops but history keeps coming back to haunt them, not just once or twice but repeatedly. Can their love overcome their past?

The pair try to find out if they have a future together despite their past, in this second-chance, enemies-to-lovers romance.

Office Romance!

This is the first book in the History Series, an office romance. Clara and Andrew is interesting, sweet, and romantic. They shared a past together, where Clara was getting bullied by Andrew. While working together, they learn to know each other. The story has twists and turns, and ends with a cliffhanger. Leanne Woodward did a good job with the narration. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good but felt as if it just cut off

Giving it 3.5 stars simply because I felt like it just cut off. I understand a cliffhanger but this just felt incomplete. Learning who Class's mother was would have been the perfect cliffhanger. Having said that I really enjoyed the storyline and how it progressed. I love the fact that Clara held out for as long as she did in seeing Andrew. Oftentimes you see a female character who has been deeply hurt by a male character in second chance encounters and they seem to just jump right in the guys arms. I love that this wasn't like that. The narrator was just ok for me. She wasn't great but she wasn't bad either. All in all this is a great story, one that I definitely want to continue.

what a cliffhanger

Clara and Andrew have history together. He was her nemesis all through school. teasing and bullying her. She really had a crush om him. She didn't understand why he was so mean. Years later, Clara found out when she got her dream job, she would be working with Andrew. she dreaded working with him. she would she give him a chance and let him in? This story has many unexpected twists and turns that will effect many characters lives, in this story. and it ends in a cliffhanger. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story narrated by Leanne Woodward..I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

Good story

I got to listen to this at the courtesy of the author in exchange for a review. The Narration was over all pretty good, with just a couple pet peeves. The story takes place in England, and there is plenty of British slang, and it just doesn’t sound right coming from such a blatantly American accent lol I’m guessing the narrator can’t pull of British accents (no shade from me, because I can’t either), but it’s awkward nonetheless.

Also, she says “grown/known/own” etc as a two syllable word instead of the single syllable it is, and every time, it makes me grind my teeth. At first I laughed, but the more it happened the more I wanted to tear out my hair a little bit. Otherwise—good narration lol Just personal pet peeves I guess.

Story was engaging, with enough tension threaded throughout to keep you interested, and it’s not very long, which is good if you have a short attention span. It’s also fairly believable. Boy teases girl that he likes, she hates him for it, fate manages to throw them back together as adults and he has to figure out how to un-shoot himself in the foot with her.

And then it ends :( I understand the next book will be on audible soon, but not soon enough! I want to know what happens next. I’m hooked. And I’ll want the next in audio, even if I have to grind my teeth every time and “own” word is uttered (it’s a small sacrifice really, I’ve listened to way worse, and the narrator has a very nice voice and is otherwise pleasant to listen to).

Repeating History

A fantastic listen this Author and Narrator has done a fabulous job at bringing this story to life. I really felt for both the main characters and I am really excited to listen to the next in the series. I literally could not go to bed until I was finished listening. I was on the edge of my seat. There are twists and turns that definitely keep me glued to this audio. This Author really knows how to grab the audience. I definitely recommend this listen.

overall i enjoyed the story

overall i enjoyed the story and listened to it in one sitting as it didnt drag at all.

The only negative that i have there appears to be some gaslighting. Andrew is a little dismissive of Clara's pain but she also doesn't verbalize it well enough for him to understand the emotional impact. I am hoping they really hash it out in the next book.

Well written and perfect pacing. well developed characters and I look forward to the next installment

Slow build bully second chance romance

This book is a very slow build and the heroine is fixated on her past bullying relationship with the male lead. It gets tiresome very quickly when he is trying to start fresh as an adult and she won’t let the past go. There’s very little steam and this second chance romance barely gets started when drama from her past and his threaten the budding relationship. Her brother seems to push her away from the guy to save political embarrassment and she just wilts under the pressure. I will read the next one in hopes she becomes a stronger character and finds her backbone.

Great chemistry

Andrew is my new book boyfriend! Great story Clara and Andrews chemistry is off the charts. The narrator is good she moves in and out of characters easily but I’m just not a fan of an American narrator for a British book. But it is still a great story and does hav a good narrator. That just my pet peeve as it sounds weird
