Publisher's summary

If you think I have it all, you're wrong.

I’m Morgana Silk and I'm a hybrid. Daughter of the Fae Storm King, my mother's witch family has wanted me dead since I killed her in childbirth. Fun. Right? Yeah. Until one day, I wake up with a dead body in my bed, and find myself framed for the murder of a highly respected alpha.

Grayson Xenos is tailing me. He's as handsome as his jaguar is deadly, and I certainly didn't expect him to have my back. The enemy has an evil magic I can't face on my own, and Grayson needs me to help him just as much as I need him. He's a temptation I can't ignore nor deny. I have the power to unmask the hidden enemy and he has the power to take them down.

But only if I can embrace the heritage I’ve avoided for so long….

Good book!

I really enjoyed listening to the Curse of Iron. There is action right from the start when she wakes up with a dead body in her bed! The narration pulls you into the book so you can visualize what is going on the whole way through. I can’t wait to listen to another great book like this!

Enjoyed this.

I love a good paranormal book and this was definitely one of them. Great plot around Morgan a half fae princess and a with in Morgan's line. With the help of her friends she sets out to prove her innocence and to discover who set her up with the dead alpha body. With so many after and against her learning to trust herself, her powers, and her instincts prove to be the greatest asset she could have.

Curse of Iron

Curse of Iron by D.D. Miers and Graceley Knox is full of vibrant imagery. The characters are well developed. I enjoyed the dilemma of who to trust. The combination of fae and witch for a family was interesting premise. Astrid Morgan was great bringing the characters to life. This is the a standalone listen and beginning of new series.

Curse of Iron

Morgan has a lot to deal with. First she is half fae and half witch and her witch family wants to kill her or just have her die and second she woke up with the leader of the shifters dead in her bed and has no idea or memory of how this happened. And before she really has anytime to process this the cops break down her door and pin her and bring her to jail. They assume she murdered the man and won't listen to anything else she says at all about being innocent. She also is afraid she will lose her job. I loved Morgan and her ability to stand up to people and remain true to herself. And her plant magic is pretty awesome. Also gotta love a certain shifter trying to help her. Morgan has to figure out who is setting her up and why. She also has to contend with her family and their prejudices. This had a lot of action and some good mystery. I am very excited for the next book in this series!

Meh

*I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.*

I kept listening because what was I gng to do? Not find out who was trying to kill her? No! That's not how we do things around here. Unfortunately that's the ONLY reason.

OK, but for real. Sigh. I wish this story gripped me the way it promised to, but I just didn't care enough about the characters, the pacing or the narration for this to not feel like a chore.

On top of that I really didn't like the stylistic choices of the narrator. At all. Listening at 1.2x speed helps somewhat.

But looking at other reviews, my opinion of this book is held by readers of the ebook as well, so it's not all down to the narrator.

The idea is great, the execution less so. It's your choice.
