Publisher's summary

"In true Susan Mallery fashion, strong female characters, friendship, and family are at the center of The Vineyard at Painted Moon. You're sure to laugh and cry along the journey and delight in the happy ending." (Robyn Carr, number one New York Times best-selling author of Virgin River)

The Vineyard at Painted Moon feels like a story about courage — about making hard choices so that you can live an authentic life.” (Katherine Center, New York Times best-selling author of What You Wish For)

Step into the vineyard with Susan Mallery’s most irresistible novel yet, as one woman searches for the perfect blend of love, family and wine.

Mackenzie Dienes seems to have it all — a beautiful home, close friends and a successful career as an elite winemaker with the family winery. There’s just one problem — it’s not her family, it’s her husband’s. In fact, everything in her life is tied to him — his mother is the closest thing to a mom that she’s ever had, their home is on the family compound, his sister is her best friend. So when she and her husband admit their marriage is over, her pain goes beyond heartbreak. She’s on the brink of losing everything. Her job, her home, her friends and, worst of all, her family.

Staying is an option. She can continue to work at the winery, be friends with her mother-in-law, hug her nieces and nephews — but as an employee, nothing more. Or she can surrender every piece of her heart in order to build a legacy of her own. If she can dare to let go of the life she thought she wanted, she might discover something even more beautiful waiting for her beneath a painted moon.

Don't miss The Summer Getaway by Susan Mallery where one woman discovers the beauty in chaos in a poignant and heartwarming story about the threads that hold family together.

Ugh

I’m an hour in and can’t find anything interesting about this book... terrible writing, even worse narration, she should be reading children’s books, too many uninteresting and whiny characters. I’d suggest listening to the clip before buying. I will return it.

Horrible narration

I don't think I can finish this audiobook, the narrator is making it unbearable.
Why would serious knowledgable professional women such as winemakers speak like baby-voiced bimbos? It's grinding and frustrating.
The male voices are ridiculous and distracting.
No. Just no.

Loved it

Another wonderful book from a favorite author. What happens when the very foundation of your life is gone? Your husband turns out to be the opposite of who you believed he was, his family is the only one you've known for most of your life and the woman who you thought of as a mother turns on you like a rabid dog? You somehow figure out how to move forward with grace only to come out on the other side being better for the experience for it led you to where you are. It was a wonderful journey and terrific listen.

Great story. Horrible narration.

The narration was so dead and lackluster I almost stopped listening to the book. But the story line kept me going. I won’t listen to this narrator again. She struggled through the story so it was painful to listen to her.

Not Susan Mallery’s best unfortunately

Susan Mallery is one of my favorite authors! However this last book really let me down. I had a hard time getting into it in the beginning. I didnt feel a connection to the characters as quickly as I had in many of her other books. The towards the middle-end of the book I started to really like some of the characters, but then I felt like she got bored with her own story and wrapped it up really quick. I felt like she could have done a lot more with where the store line was headed, but she just wrapped up in “epilogue 3 years later”.
Hoping some new stories are in the works! :)

A lovely listen

An easy romance - somewhat predictable but enjoyable story. The kind of book where I would have loved to keep listening

Nice light book

Not too complex but pleasant to follow & you learn a little about wine making. A good beach read.

I love the way the story grabbed me

I loved the way the story grabbed me and kept me devouring it to see what was going to happen next. Susan Mallery's stories always keep me on the edge of my seat, wanting to race through the story, dying to know what will happen next. Of course I can't race. I need to savor the details. I fall in love with the characters and this story was no different. Mackenzie's journey was amazing. Such a great story!
