Publisher's summary

They say opposites attract. Someone needs to tell that to Emerson Scott.

Gavin

All I ever wanted was to play ball. When an act of sheer stupidity took that dream away, I thought I’d never bounce back. But now, I have the opportunity to coach an up-and-coming phenom, and I'm giving it all I've got. The fact that I've been lusting after his smoking-hot sister only sweetens the deal. Emerson may be buttoned up like a school librarian, but I play my best when I’m under pressure...and I always bring the heat.

Emerson

Never lose focus. Never lose control. Those are the first two rules in my carefully calculated plan for success. Finding myself thrown into the role of guardian for my little brother was not part of that plan. But I can adjust for Jay’s sake. I’m not about to let one change make me lose sight of my goals. Too bad Jay’s hot young baseball coach doesn’t seem to give a fig about my plans. He has one of his own - and it includes me. Gavin Monroe may play like a pro, but that boy will never win this game.

The Chemistry

This slow burn will have you giggling, swooning, and utterly bewitched with the banter. I absolutely loved Em and Gavin, and the antics the two get up to. When they finally come together only to come apart your heart will melt too!

good addition

A great part of the series. I liked seeing the growth of the adults-parents. It was well overdue. I liked Emerson's changes and growth
throughout the story; in great part due to Gavin removing the scales from her eyes. Younger but wiser. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

A delightful romcom

I love this series, and I doubt the author can disappoint me. In fact, this time, she tackles one of my favorite tropes, age gap with an older woman. Don’t be afraid, it’s a small age gap–though it could be a large life gap.

This book follows Gavin Monroe–Laney’s brother and ex-baseball star–and his pursuit of Emerson Scott, a lawyer we met in the previous book. When we first met Gavin, he was almost a bum: recently moved from his parents’ house to live with his older sister, no job, lazy. What a change he made since then! And he’s still changing during the story. He’s become quite a compelling character. Charming, loyal, driven, passionate–the total opposite of when we first saw him.

Emerson, though as driven as Gavin, is almost too serious–pleasure isn’t in her vocabulary. Until she meets Gavin. I loved the instant spark, and how eager Gavin was to try and seduce her, while she tried to avoid him because dating a younger guy wasn’t the image she wanted to project of herself. The contant push-pull was endearing.

All the ingredients I love in this series were there: humor, banter, crazy situations, sexy times. Even some life lessons that were written perfectly–for instance, don’t judge! A delightful romcom, perfectly narrated on top of that.

The forth story in a great series

Finally we get Gavins story. Gavin had a dream that sho close he could taste it, until he made a very big mistake that ruined his chances forever. For the longest time he wallowed in sadness until finally he decided to do something about it. Emerson a young lawyer who wants to give her younger brother a stable place to live and finish high school. Turns out he’s a young baseball phenom just like Gavin was. A great romcom with laughs and tough feelings it perfect.

Spoiler free review

I've really enjoyed listening to this series. I like how parts overlap from previous books. it's nice to see how far Gavin has come from book 1 to this one. you really wanted to root for him. I liked Emerson a lot too. she was strong and thought she had her life in order until Gavin came in and flipped it all upside down

Good Fun Read!

This was a fun contemporary romance that has the feels that makes it a good read. It will keep you glued to your reader because you will want to know what happens with Gavin and Emerson.
This is a first for me from this author and this series but I was not lost in the story at all. I will go back and read the others because I want more and I want to read more about Gavin's past.
I listened to the audible version and enjoyed Kelsey Navarro (Narrator).

Such a cute story!

Although an injury benched Gavin's dreams of a major league career, his talent sends him onto a new path, turning his world upside down. Well actually I think he turned Emerson's world upside down in truth. Emerson certainly never expected to fall for her brother's baseball coach but fate had other plans and although they both thought their love had been struck out, they ended up with a home run in the end. Such a cute baseball love story!
