Publisher's summary

Not all that is right comes from the gods. Sometimes, they demand much that is wrong. Liana and her twin are an anomaly at the heart of a kingdom bound by unyielding tradition. The crown princess is the first female marked as Herkun's heir, and her existence has unfortunate consequences. When her uncle leads a coup with the intent to kill her, Liana and her twin brother are spirited away to a place where not even the stars are the same. Lost and alone, with only her father's pact with a foreign goddess to guide her, Liana must decide whom she can trust. Time is running short, and the will of the gods is all. Mother of Creation is an epic fantasy that tells the story of the coming of age of a royal heir, a brother's quest to save his sister, the machinations of the son of a god, a blind oracle's dreams, and the struggles of an ordinary soldier.

it was not great.

it seemed to ramble on about unimportant things and it didn't hold my interest. the ending was horrible and seemed unfinished. the narration seemed ok but it's hard to tell when you don't like a book. I wouldn't recommend it.

Not my cup of tea....

I really tried to like this book. I really did. The basic story line was ok for me: sons/daughters of one god fighting to keep their place against the son of another god.

But....For me, the story was a bit too twisted for me to be able to enjoy. I felt that many of the things that happened in this book were put there purely for a shock factor, but they diminished the story overall in my opinion.

I also didn't care for the huge gaps in gender equality. I understand this is a fantasy that is placed in another world; however, it felt overdone.

Honestly this isn't a book/series that I really wish to continue. The story breaks on a cliffhanger, but I have no desire to continue on with the story.

unique and wonderfull

This fantasy book had a medieval and tribal feel to me, reminding me a little of Robert Jordans the wheel of time series. The characters are so alive you cant help but feel with them and for them.
This wonderful book is one of those story's that you start and then cant put down. I listened to it all now please tell me book 2 is coming out soon?
I was giving this book for free in exchange for an unbiased review, and honestly I would have written one anyway had I bought it. This is one of those books where you just want to tell your friends to read it or to just tell them the story. Thank you so much Amanda, please keep adding to this saga.

Interesting story but very dark.

Even though this story is very entertaining, most of it is dark and depressing. Every character is suffering and only some have a spark of hope.

The story has many characters and the narrator was able to give them their own unique voice. It was very easy to follow and entertaining to listen to.

Unique story

If you could sum up Mother of Creation in three words, what would they be?

World needs Feminism

What other book might you compare Mother of Creation to and why?

I feel a comparison to the Wheel series in this it makes me want to pull it out and reread.

What about Michelle Marie’s performance did you like?

Like all good narrators her voice became part of the book and was a fantastic delivery system It was a great fit.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was in fact I stayed up late to finish it rather than finish in the morning.
