Publisher's summary

We all have secrets.

Like the fact that I portray myself as a simple florist, living a mundane life. Which is a far stretch from reality.

My family is rock-god royalty. My father an ‘80s icon, my siblings all celebrities in their own right. Then there’s me, Lyric Griffin, hiding in plain sight, trying to be everything I’m not.

Along comes Eddie, someone to whom I find myself completely attracted. I’m simply Lyric to him, not a princess of rock. He’s gorgeous, a little cocky, and knows what he wants - me.

But I made a mistake.
I trusted him, and he betrayed me.
Is Eddie nothing but a hotshot deceiver?

The thing about secrets is they always have a way of coming out in the end.

Hotshot Deceiver

When this starts off with a big cameo from Pixie, I knew it would be an enjoyable story. I was excited to read about Eddie and Lyric was a great match for him. He jumps all in and falls fast, they both do. But then Eddie’s big secret comes out and breaks their perfect bubble. He has to try hard to win her back (and that was the best part because he was swoonworthy for sure.) I enjoyed this one.

Eddy and Lyric

I loved this story of flawed, and deeply loving human beings.
Eddy was not perfect but perfectly wonderful. His commitment to show that despite his shortcomings he could be, honest, giving, persistent and just dreamy.

Lyric's need to live a normal life because of the ghost of her past was understandable but something she needed to overcome. The only way to do this, having an super famous family is to stat completely away.

Eddy brought her healing and kind of brought her closer to her family.
Couldn't love it more

One tiny thing... Hate the cover

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Another winner from the Hero Club collection.
The Eddie really earned the deceiver label. He told some fairly significant lies for reasons that made sense to him at the time.
Despite the lies between them, the story was fairly low angst and wasted a fun listen.
The narration was just right for the characters. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are a great pairing as always.

Couldn’t get into it. Lame meet cute. Odd descriptors. Hung in for 4 chapters and couldn’t anymore.

can't take it... why

this would have been a great book, spoilers below if it wasnt for the ending! I can't believe she forgave him l, and tried to take some of the blame.I dont care why he lied, he perpetuated lie upon lie. He could have come clean many times. It just makes her pathetic. How can you live somebody you really dont even know, hell how could you trust them again.SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HIS REAL NAME! I wont even get into the stalking....Ok I'm just going to leave it at that.

No no no

Save yourself from this. There is not a decent human being amongst the cast. There is lying and then there is LYING. And stalking and being a giant jerk. Jace, getting punched in the face by Eddie and Lyric wasnt enough! And Lyric, grow a spine and stop being such a pushover. I love a good happily ever after, buttm truly didnt care as no one was likable. If not for the animals it'd have been a total loss. Not sure what everyone else read.

It's like pulling teeth

I don't know what it is with the story. The way it was set up, the narrators, the story...all were bad. Just bad. It felt as if the author had a thesaurus by her computer and just wanted to make sure to hit her word quota and over emphasized every little thing.
