Publisher's summary

From New York Times best seller Corinne Michaels and USA Today best seller Melanie Harlow comes a second chance stand-alone romance novel.

Ian Chase broke my heart at 17, and I’ve spent the last 18 years hating him for it. He makes it easy, with his smart mouth and playboy lifestyle - which I unfortunately have to observe since he lives behind me. Every time I see him climbing out of his pool, practically naked and unreasonably sexy, my blood boils.

I’ve always loved to loathe him. I never planned to need him.

London Parish is my little sister’s best friend, not that it stopped me from falling for her. Our history is complicated. The only thing we have in common is being godparents to my sister’s three adorable kids - until our lives are changed in one tragic moment. Now we’re trying to raise the children we love, mourn an unthinkable loss, and fight an undeniable attraction.

My life is already upside down, and the last thing I need is for old feelings to resurface. Because I’ll never be able to keep her, no matter how hard I try to hold her close.

Angsty Second Chance

A sweet but angsty second chance story about a girl who was willing to give up her dream for a boy, the boy who sacrificed his happiness for her future, and the fracture in their lives that bring them back together.
I did feel the ending was a bit rushed and there were a handful of situations I felt were left unfinished. But overall, it was enjoyable to listen to.
Andi Arndt and Tor Thom worked really well together in their narration of this book. Andi Arndt has been among my favorite narrators for a long time and Tor Thom's sexy voice works well for the characters he portrays.

Love and Sacrifice <3

I loved everything about this book!! Melanie & Corinne knocked it out of the park! The love/hate relationship between Ian and London is epic and hilarious! The three kids are perfect and add so much to this story! Sabrina is my spirit animal, seriously LOVED her!! <3 I loved how she was in every piece of this story in Ian and London’s POV. It is so sad they had to lose her to find their second chance but it was oh so beautiful at the same time. You get every single feel with this one and I did not want it to end!! I felt like I was a part of their life in this one it is truly awesome. The epilogue was absolutely perfect too!!
I will be honest and say I am usually not a huge fan of Thor but he did an amazing job with Andi, they were perfect for these characters and really brought them to life!

A love to fight for

If Ian and London would stop trying to irk each other every time they are in the same city, they may have found each other sooner. But then we would not have had such a fun, heartfelt and full of laughs story. Fate can be cruel at times, but it always seems to get its way. For Ian and London, a very sad and difficult situation forces them to work together. Fighting 20 year old feelings does not go unnoticed by the others. Soon everyone but Ian and London see how much they love each other. I found myself routing for them to get together from the first time they were in the same room.

Tor Thom and Andi Arndt compliment each other's narrating. Tor Thom, with his deep voice, was perfect for Ian. Mr. Thom brought out the rough exterior of Ian, just as I would have imagined him myself. But Mr Thom also was able to bring out the emotions that I am tried so hard to hide. Andi Arndt was a great contrast to Tor Thom. Ms. Arndt narrated London and all her emotions and attitudes to perfection. Ms.Arndt was able to narrate London as I imagined she would be. London was a tough, serious woman who wanted to be loved. Ms Arndt brought out the best, and worst of London. Tor Thom and Andi Arndt are a great narrating team that truly brought this story to life.

...a heartache you won't soon forget.

It's hard to be at your strongest when dealing with life at your weakest. Ian and London have a history that borders on contentious. He broke her heart. She hits at his ego. All that changes when a tragedy rocks their lives and forces them to face painful truths about themselves, each other and the new responsibilities that are headed their way. Hold You Close is all heart with some heat thrown in for good measure. It's a tale of love, loss, growth and family with a side of second chances. With dynamic duos like authors Harlow and Michaels and narrators like Ardnt and Thom leading the way, Hold You Close is a heartache you won't soon forget.

Heartwarming story

I just love listening, but this one was very predictable. The overall story was sweet though.

Excellent story but..

This has been an amazing listen with the exception of the male narrator. At times I wanted to fast forward because I just could not stand the narrator’s voice. Andi Arndt is always as amazing as ever. The authors should consider a new male narrator. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I loved the dynamics of the family as well. The kids were super adorable . Despite the horrible male narrator, I still think it’s worth a listen.

A beautiful love story!

Men have a way of holding back their feelings. I hope more men will read stories like this, and understand how to tell women exactly how they feel about them. Just be honest!

Hot, sweet romance with family tragedy and drama

Typical story of assumptions, immature love and behavior, miscommunications, resentment and sexual tensions, a family tragedy, forgiveness and repetitive behavior, and finally an open discussion that leads to an HEA. Narration was great and while this fast paced story was not particularly original it was entertaining and well executed.
