Like a Cosmo article

I wanted to like it, I really did but there was no substance anywhere. The author shares stories from her life and then add on "advice" to it. And it's very basic advice, like don't hide behind make up. Maybe this works better for young women in their late teens or early 20ies that have yet to discover life but I'd still not recommend it to them. And just because you mention God three times and add one bible verse does not make this a Christian advice book. I'm so disappointed and will try to return it, feels like I wasted good money.

Not your average self-help book.

From the first time I stumbled across Jordan on Instagram, her words & heart behind all she did captured my attention. Since then her words have provided moments of epiphany, made me laugh & at times even brought tears to my eyes from the unbelievable level of relatability. Her resources and the community she facilitates around them, beginning with the message "your brokenness is welcome here" have helped me to grow and open up in ways I never had before.

Since the launch of her book, Own Your Everyday, I've learned the backstory behind the wide variety of projects she's pursued and shared with the world with greater depth than she's ever shared before; from the very start of lettering and her online shop to everything that followed. Carefully selected stories of her own insecurities and hardships she has personally faced are seamlessly woven into the practical advice offered throughout this book, since as rumor has it, Jordan doesn't put her pants on any differently than the rest of us, she's not some fancy pants lady, she's still figuring life out, but has provided so much value through being open about her life while doing so!

I snagged the audio version on Audible during the week it launched and have been loving it enough that it's on repeat!! I love that the audio book is narrated by Jordan especially knowing that every story is so personal and specifically selected to meet the needs of women in this day and age struggling with comparison, perfectionism and the pressure to prove... even or perhaps especially when the expectation is only set by and for ourselves.

Own Your Everyday is a resource for women of all ages, the kind that you highlight and write notes in the margins, then pass on from one friend to the next. The one you tell your mom she's gotta read, or slip to your boyfriend's little sister after she confides in you. The resource you use as a quick reminder when you're in need of a kick in the pants but also the one you read in full when you're longing for a long warm hug.

Jordan challenges common self-help extremes with some down to earth realtalk and actionable steps. As a new grad, I'll be the first to say this is especially beneficial for anyone going through a transition like graduation. But I know its something I can look to time and time again as I encounter career changes, new friendships, relationship changes, marriage, motherhood and so much more.

Just got my hardcover copy signed last night at the Chicago stop on J's tour. Meeting her in person was almost surreal, yet every word was so very down to earth and practical, but that's 100% J's style and exactly what the book conveys! Whether turning the pages or listening along, I'm confident that women will continue to find a fast friend in Jordan as they experience Own your Everyday.

I really wish there was more

I love Jordan and her content is really good for a young audience just starting out in life. I can tell through her advice that she is very wise, disciplined and mature. I will give this book to my young teenage daughter one day, but for a woman, this isn’t it. I’d love to see her give advice to a seasoned woman and not just young women who haven’t experienced much of life. I’d recommend her self-published book to new wives or engaged women. That was insightful!

Loved it so much, I’m purchasing the hard copy!

I just loved how relatable this book is to ANY HUMAN WOMAN who will listen! If you’re into audiobooks, then Jordan’s voice is super soothing haha! This matters to me, because I will turn an audiobook off if the reader’s voice makes me cringe. I’m headed to Target to buy the hard copy of the book! I loved it so much, and it’s filled with so much valuable information that’s worth marking up and taking notes. I was really able to relate with all her stories. Every feeling she felt is what all women feel, and it all came with solutions. Simple, actionable solutions. I loved it! So inspiring! AND so raw and authentic!

Disappointing!!!

I was excited to read this book because I heard good things but I was thoroughly disappointed. She talks too much about her life and her advice is very basic. She didn’t tell me anything new that I didn’t already know. I am not religious at all and I find a trend with the Christian authors that perfectionism, fear of failure, and body image are huge themes. I’m wondering if this is common with women who grew up in a Christian household. When you get older those problems become less of an issue automatically as you mature. Also a lot of people don’t get married at such a young age, so as a single woman it was hard to relate. There are so many better self help books out there. Maybe this book would be helpful for high school girls or even college girls, but otherwise the advice is very juvenile. If you are in your late twenties or older DO NOT READ.

A Book for Every Woman

This book has been a life changer and I'm adding it to my annual reading list. Though I don't struggle with a thousand different passions, I still struggle with having to prove myself. This book teaches young women to stop proving themselves and start pursuing themselves and their purpose or many purposes. Thank you Jordan for changing a life.

LIKE THE MOST ENCOURAGING CHAT WITH A BEST FRIEND

A MUST LISTEN. You know that feeling you get after having a pep talk with your best friend? Or that peaceful, grateful heart you have after a Sunday sermon that hit you in all the right ways?! Yeah, I’m talking those kind of feels in one perfect present that is this book.

Truly felt as if the author was sitting in my living room pouring out advice and encouragement like a best friend I’ve known for years

Jordan pours out genuine love, authenticity, and encouragement to help redefine unhealthy notions about what living successfully and purposefully really looks like. Every second was gold!
