Publisher's summary

A wallflower gets seduction tips from a playboy athlete - until love changes the rules.

Socially awkward Joellen Bixby has a date every Saturday - with her cat, a pint of ice cream, and fantasies of the way-too-handsome Michael Maddox. She’d give anything to win over the unattainable CEO of her firm, but how can she when she blends in so well with her cubicle? The answer may be closer than she thinks.

Cameron McGregor is a cocky, tattooed Scottish rugby captain who just moved in next door. He’s not Jo’s type - at all - but the notorious playboy is offering to teach the wallflower everything he knows about inspiring desire. Though a lot of women have rumpled Cam’s kilt, Jo is special. Far from the ugly duckling she thinks she is, in Cam’s eyes she’s sharp, funny, and effortlessly sexy. Now, thanks to him, Jo is blooming with confidence and has the man of her dreams within reach.

Unfortunately for Cam, he’s just helped to push the woman of his dreams into the arms of another man - and now he’s in the fight of his life to keep this beauty from getting away.

Took me by surprise

I like this author. So I began this book knowing I would enjoy it. The writing, the story, so good. I began reading...before I realized it, an hour and a half was gone. I still kept reading. I just immersed myself in the characters and what they were experiencing. I loved the sassy, witty dialogue. It’s a great read. I was so blown away when I realized I finished the book. Who knew you could spend time so pleasantly without paying attention to it passing. Best part was listening while I read. Great narration

Bravo! A new favorite audio.

If I thought I loved J.T. Geissinger before this story confirms it even more. I trully think this is basically a RomCom from how much I have laughed. There is so much great banter between the characters, the witty writing and the chemistry build up makes this audio si spectacular, special and unique that it is now a favorite of mine for the year. The performance by Pippa Jayne evaluated the written word to an exponential level of enjoyment and engagement. The characters are very well developed, the sarcasm is just right and again, the level of fun and funny is perfection!! Trust the fact that this will be a unique, fresh and charming story. The slow burn part of it is just the build up, but the charming, witty and funny outweighs everything else. Deserving of every star!!! THUMBS UP!

Humorous and heart-melting.

MELT FOR YOU is a slow burn romance with a likeable heroine and a completely loveable Scottish hero in the USA. I love a good slow burn and it is executed here with perfection. I was swept away by the romance and loving demonstrated in this novel. We have a lovely, intelligent heroine and a quick-thinking, loveable, romantic hero. He inspires a positive transformation in the heroine who needs to be her own champion. Their banter is clever, their chemistry is undeniable and their epiphany leading to admissions of love is gripping.

MELT FOR YOU is also very funny. My face twisted up and I doubled over from regular, sudden explosive laughter. Sometimes I could hardly breathe from laughing so hard.

MELT FOR YOU is second in a series but a standalone. I have to confess that months ago I could not finish the first novel in this series, BURN FOR YOU. I had almost decided this author was not for me when I read a positive review about MELT FOR YOU by a most trusted Amazon Reviewer. She gave MELT FOR YOU 4 stars but I’m doing my best not to gush embarrassingly about how wonderful it was to me. Perhaps the difference is that I listened on Audible. Narrator Pippa Jayne is Ah-May-Zing! She masterfully brings to life all the characters - with their differing accents (especially that Scottish brogue!), ages, personalities and genders - by giving them distinct voices; and “acting” out all the parts with the right tone and comedic timing.

When I clicked to buy the Kindle version on Amazon, the Audible version was made available to sync to the book (Whispersync) for a few dollars more (altogether it was less than buying the Audible version on its own) and I thought “why not?” Best book buying decision. I’m already listening to MELT FOR YOU a second time.

The Kindle version includes an Author’s Note at the end that I felt was very important to read, but the Audible version omits it. Pity. It explains a lot behind the author’s thinking when she imbued the heroine with certain qualities or mind-sets. It’s a good, serious message for all, especially young people.

My advice: if you can, experience the Audible version. To get a good idea of the humour and tone of the book, listen to the Audible sample and/or read the Kindle sample on Amazon.

I am so grateful that I gave JT Geissinger’s writing another chance. I’ll be reading this author’s work again.

Scottish Accents Get Me!

This book just worked for me. I was literally laughing out loud at certain parts. Add in the Scottish accent of the Hero and I'm a goner! I really enjoyed seeing the Fmc find her voice and change the self talk in her head.

This was amazing!!! The quality of her voice and the accents - wonderful. Made the character so real and easy to picture. The story was fun and so nice to see an ugly duckling win. We all love the swan.

slow burn love!!

i am loving finding slow burn romances. this story is good. it doesn't start up the way i'd like- the H is kinda a douche at first, but he quickly redeems himself and treats the h as a queen. it takes her far too long to realize that he loves her and would do anything for her- but it makes for an amazing story.

no cheating- really- thought here is a bit of a love triangle- sorta though part of the triangle is more of a friend than anything else. has super steamy scene- but they come towards the middle- end of book.

narration is great IMO too.

Good story, great narration

The first half was so good! The ending skidded off the tracks a bit for me. Loved the hero! Let's hear it for big tough guys who aren't alpha-holes. The narration was amazing, I felt like she captured some of the humor and made the heroine more likable. And her voice for the hero was fantastic. Thumbs up!

entertaining!

I LOVED the banter between these two! it was so much fun, I was smiling thru so much of it I really feel like I lucked out listening to this one instead of reading it, because the narrator was amazing. i dont know if i would have enjoyed it as much if i read it. I seriously forgot that it was not duet narration. the accent made Cam and this whole book. seriously, this is one of my top listens based just on the narration alone.

Will definitely listen again! 5 stars!

A fan of the slow burn romance (The Hating Game, The Wall of Winnipeg), I am constantly on the search for titles with similar feels. This one had most of what I want, with imperfect characters to fall in love with, witty dialog, and a relationship that develops over time rather than the insta-love in most romances these days. Give me more!

Narration was spot on, and I was able to tell the difference between characters. The one flaw for me was that the lead female character was such a doormat that it was painfully cringeworthy.

5 stars are reserved for only those audios I immediately look forward to hearing again. This one is a winner!
