Publisher's summary

One night changed her life...

Best-selling author Amelia Greyson has grown up in the music industry and isn't the slightest bit fazed by fame or celebrities. However, when she attends a Bastards and Dangerous concert with her best friend Belle, her world shifts on its axis.

Double trouble...

Sawyer and Noah Weston are the front men of BAD. They're fraternal twins and sexy as sin. When they hear the author of The O Factor is in their green room, they're intrigued. She's just the person they need to write their farewell story. The brothers offer Amelia the opportunity of a lifetime, which she reluctantly accepts.

Three hearts...

Noah is sweet and considerate, working hard to make Amelia feel at home on the road. Unfortunately, the closer they get, the more obnoxious Sawyer becomes. Sawyer is arrogant and distant and he wants Amelia, even though she's not his for the taking. Only during stolen moments does Sawyer show her who he really is. Can Amelia maintain a safe distance from Sawyer and keep her heart intact? Or will she shatter Noah's heart by giving hers to his brother instead?

Contains mature themes.

slow going

it's a kind of ok story, but really slow paced & not very exciting. I'm having a hard time finishing. and these are the most mellow, kind of girlie rock stars I've ever read about.

Narration is bad!

It’s really hard to listen when the narrators voice either goes up or drops an o five at the end of each sentence!
Otherwise the story is good. :)

Really disappointed

This book was one of the worst I’ve listened to. Nothing happened until the last 30 minutes. The entire 1st book is lead up and should have probably been no more than 4 or 5 chapters, but it has such good reviews, I’m hoping the next book is better. If not, I’m returning them both and moving on. Also, the narrator has a very strange way of pronouncing words that end in T and it is horribly distracting, not to mention the monotonous tone she uses for everything. No emotion is reflected and it probably adds to how difficult it is to get into this book.

Music, Love, and Fame

Just an Illusion in a nice introduction to the men of this band. All of their personalities are fleshed out very well and I really like them all. This one follows Noah and Amelia, but its more than just about them. We see the dynamic of the band, get to know Amelia and her past, and throw in a healthy dose of drama. What really got me in this one is Noah's twin Sawyer also being enamored by Amelia. It creates quite the dynamic. Now I'm ready for Side B because that ending was so great and cruel. Tracy Marks were great. She really knows how to throw in the emotions. It made listening to this one pretty fun. I'm a sucker for a rockstar romance.

Was that a lisp or new-to-me pronunciation?

Well, the first time it happened, I actually stopped and hit replay. There it was, the narrator said "etch" instead of "it's". I giggled and went on.

Then another weird word was said that I couldn't understand and so I played it slower. Did she just say "whatsch" instead of "what"? What's happening?

I soon fixated on those crazy words and found it very distracting and irritating. It's all throughout the book too. This is an audiobook for crisakes! We rely on that voice to tell us the story, so intimately too via airpods!! Can someone please look into the quality of the narration first before these audio books are let loose on the public?

Tracy Marks reads:
Right as rightsch
Met is metch
Just a little bit - just a litle betch
Grocery cart is grocery cartsch
Heart is heartsch

I'm dropping this whole series if the second book is by her too.

good story, but narration is so bad

The story is so good, but I kept catching myself not paying attention to it and only concentrating on the weird way the narrator talked. She would emphasize words that shouldn't be emphasized. Drove me crazy.

** Great Listen**

I really liked this book. A wonderful love story although it ends on a horrific cliff hanger. Glad the remaining books are already on audible. Always LOVE ❤❤ Tracy Marks narration!

Need more!

Angst filled, romantic, loving, undecided, rock band, stalker...this book has a little bit of everything. D Kelly brings it all to life with this first book in her Illusions trilogy. Amelia Greyson is an author, with a past that is not unfamiliar with the rockstar style. When asked to go on tour and write the farewell story of BAD, she is hesitant, yet intrigued. Noah and Sawyer are the front men of BAD. Fraternal twins, each with completely different personalities, and a history that haunts them every day. This tour has so many complexities. When I was listening, I was captured by the ensemble of people, getting to know them, trying to make the best decisions for them! Noah is warm, loving and the perfect man. I can see how people are drawn to him. Sawyer is dark and brooding, with that edge of bad boy, definitely attractive. Belle brings news to the people, yet a little dramatic in her own life. And Amelia, I really connected with, finding her path, making life changing decisions and trying to find her way. It's a journey that has just started, and I can't wait to see where D Kelly is taking us. A little love, a little music, a little suspense and the story ends with a bang! Bring on book 2 so I can see what happens!

Tracy Marks is one of my favorite narrators, and listening to her bring this story to life is just amazing. She is able to connect with the characters, and bring each their own special light. Her voices always are spot on, matching the style of the person and brings her own flare to the story enhancing every scene.
