Publisher's summary

Marek Fabritis is used to delivering blows, not receiving them. But when he gets tipped off by an anonymous email about his ex-girlfriend, the news leaves him ice cold - and it's not because Gracen Moore is getting married to a total jerk. It's the fact that Marek has a three-year-old daughter he never knew about. Now he's going back home, not to play knight in shining armor but to make damn sure that no man takes what's his. For the first time, there might be something more important than hockey.

Gracen Moore has always loved Marek. That's why she let him go, so he could pursue a career in the NHL. And that's why she never told him about Lilly. Only now does Gracen realize that she made an unforgivable mistake. But is that any reason for Marek to crash her wedding and make an epic scene? If the spark that still smolders between them is to be trusted, maybe. Still, Gracen's not getting her hopes up. Because she knows better than anyone that appearances aren't always what they seem...

Contains mature themes.

I love Marek

I'd been dying to get my hands on Marek. After the way book 10 left off in this series, with Reed chasing Marek to stop a wedding I could not wait to find out what happens in Book 11 of Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury Hockey series.

When Marek stops Gracen's wedding, he gets more than he bargained for. What stops him dead in his tracks is the little girl's eyes that resemble his staring back at him. Right then and there, he knew Gracen had been keeping secrets.

Marek had left to fufill his dream, play professional hockey. The last thing Gracen expects is for him to show up at her wedding and stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life. She had always loved him, but she had been harboring secrets. Now it was time to fess up and make the best of the situation she was thrown into, when he brought her and her daughter home to North Carolina.

From the start to the last word I never wanted this story to end. I love the world Sawyer Bennett has created and how she is able to intricately weave multiple story lines across this stand alone series. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Marek is narrated by Cris Dukehart and Graham Halstead. Both are new to me, but this will not be the last I listen to them. They brought this amazing story to life.

Va Va Va Voom!

Gracen Moore decided to keep a secret when her heart was broken. Love was not on her side and it wasn’t enough to keep her man in her life. She kept their daughter a secret and when he finds out she’s getting married, he disrupts her wedding and forces her to move with him so they can straighten this mess out. She doesn’t understand why he came, but, now that he knows about Lilly, she has no choice but to do his bidding and answer his questions. She knows she’s made a mess of things, but, that does not mean that she has to accept his cruelty. She also realizes that she never stopped loving him and being in his presence is making this more difficult than she could’ve ever imagined.

Marek Fabritis is a jerk! When he finds out that Gracen is getting married he goes to stop the wedding. What he finds is a miniature version of himself, only it’s a girl. He chose his hockey career over Gracen and she kept his daughter a secret. He has no clue how to deal with this discovery, all he knows is that he needs them near him to sort this mess out and learn how to be a father.

The Good: I loved listening to this story. The plot was realistic and the emotions ran deep. Very engaging and well written. The sex was so hot and the dirty talk was scorching!

The Bad: Marek was such an asshole! He treated Gracen like crap and would not let her forget what she did.

The Ugly: Gracen’s blackmailer...and that’s all I’m going to say..

In true Sawyer Bennett style, this story is a must read. You could feel how hurt Marek was, but, you could also understand why Gracen kept this secret from him. He made it clear that his career came first. Will their daughter bring them together? Maybe. Grace is being threatened and having her in his presence constantly, is stirring up feelings that he thought were gone. How can he forgive her betrayal and look passed why she did it? Gracen was not a fool and she refused to allow him to make her pay for her mistake over and over again. Will love prevail when the obvious attraction between them can no longer be ignored? A Solid 5 Star Read!

Old love becomes new

a love story where Teenagers break up and hate then are brought back together. Parts of story are annoying when they continually throw old fights in each other’s face. She held information from him about a child for almost 4years and is angry that he’s mad. Expect him to immediately get over it cuz he dumped her before she found out about pregnancy. I would likely never get over that so I found that hard to listen to. Also I have a hard time with the manwhores giving up their partying lifestyle so quickly or a woman falling for or jumping in bed with a man who sleeps with different girls nightly. Those men would be hard to trust.
Good books though, loved this series.
Hopefully Holt will get a book.

Loved it

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Marek Fabritis and Gracen Moor were high school sweathearts, but Mareck was heading to the NHL and decided to break up with Gracen and broke her heart. After receiving an email Marek goes to New York to stop a wedding between his ex girlfriend Gracen and Owen Waller and he also found out about a secret she kept from him. Mareck brings Gracen and their three year old daughter Lilly who he never knew existed back home to Raleigh, North Carolina, but he couldn't stop being angry with Gracen for keeping Lilly away from him and his parents. After having a huge fight and saying things that hurt each other, Gracen tells Marek that she is leaving and taking Lilly back to New York.

love this series of books

The story starts out with a wedding being stopped and Mark finds out he is a father. I understand his anger but I do not understand his ignoring his child. If he is angry for not knowing his child why keep away after you know. Gracen is also a bite of I don't know how to say this without sounding mean. I like her I get she has been through a lot being dumped but she could have reached out and been like hey I'm pregnant and let it go not expecting much since they broke up. but she keeps it to herself self then she is guilty because of it and also decided to marry a man to save her parent's home without talking to her parents this doesn't make sense to me since most banks don't talk to others about loans unless you are on them. But I did like this story and I find that it is not hard to believe the love story and second chance part. Cris and Graham are great.

Not a fan of Marek

I love this series but I was not a fan of Marek, who while wronged, was written to be a real mean person. Otherwise, great to see the rest of the cast and the narration team is good!
