Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan completes a sexy contemporary series with an unrequited crush on the bad boy next door.

Caleb Carr might have once been ready for commitment, but when the unexpected slams into him with the force of a two-ton truck, he knows he has to run away from anything that might be important. Zoey might well be his final temptation, but to keep her whole, he’ll walk away.

Zoey Wager has loved Caleb since they were eight. And has had her heart broken from afar repeatedly ever since. It doesn’t help that every time she sees him - even when she’s running away halfway across the world - he’s with another woman. She's watched him fall in lust her entire life. Now, she's ready to watch him fall in love. With her.

Chance encounters of the sequined kind, best friends who aren’t really just your friend, and childhood meet cutes that are anything but cute force the Carr siblings to face what life has brought them. Again.

Not Sure I Liked Caleb

This is the 3rd book in the Less Than series and while it could be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the previous books so that you can see all the different connections and relationships. In this one we get Caleb and Zoey's story. Zoey has loved Caleb since she was eight years old and he saved her. And watching him go through all the different women he has gone through has broken her heart over and over again. She is tired of watching him with different women and has decided she wants to see him fall in love with her. Caleb may have once wanted commitment but when the unexpected happens, he doesn't think that option is open for him anymore. And no matter how important Zoey might have become to him, he feels like he has to walk away in order to not break her apart.

Ordinarily I love this author's books. And while I liked this one and it was good, it isn't my favorite of the series. There is almost a disconnect for me with the story at points. And I didn't really like how Caleb is, which really surprised me since I usually love the heroes of her stories! I didn't really like how long he was keeping his secret and basically acting like she couldn't handle or love him because of it. It's still a decent read, and I will probably re-read it at some point. It's just not my favorite of the series. Samantha Cook and Jacob Morgan did good with the narration. I really like Jacob Morgan's voice and his tone, I'm not sure that I always like Samantha Cook's tone of voice but together they did make the story enjoyable!

Caleb and Zoey

I really enjoyed Caleb and Zoey's story.
Their friendship that bloomed into so much more. But the adoration between them through the years is the sweetest.
I loved the way that Caleb was always there when Zoey needed him. It was like fate had a hand in it the entire time.

Really loved this audio and enjoyed the narrators.

I didn't want this series to end. I love the Carr family!

as a child of a parent who was a surrogate

I hated the Lacy character. she was whiney needy and had absolutely no backbone. she had unsolicited no respect for her sister or future brother in law despite their history. I loved this story that brought the MCS together but the side story made me soooooooomad. Caleb's a gem of a MC. I don't k ow if the MC female ver sion would have kept my interest. I don't know that this was worth a credit or a relisten for me.

Caleb and Zoey

Zoey has been in love with Caleb since she was 8 years old. Over the years, Zoey’s heart broke a little each time she saw Caleb with a different woman. While attending her sister’s wedding, Zoey decides she can no longer avoid Caleb. As they give into the chemistry that is building between them and start a relationship, will Caleb throw it all away as he waits to hear if his tests results from severe migraines is something worse and he is going to die. Will his secret cause him to lose Zoey or will he take a chance and allow her in so they can have a HEA?

Another winner!

Zoey and Caleb are adorable. These characters made me laugh and cry. Jacob Morgan and Samantha Cooke breathed life into them. Carrie Ann Ryan gave them a different kind of journey to love. Wonderful job!

I LOVE ZOEY!

I love Zoey! I can totally relate to her and having a crush you just can't get over. It really hit me in the feels that she got a chance at her crush.

The whole time I was listening, I was thinking about my past crush that I was stuck on for what felt like forever. I think we all can relate to feelings like that.

I could not stop listening, it has been awhile since a book really took me back to my past. Reading/Listening to Zoey & Caleb's story made that inner girl who wanted nothing but her crush so happy. It was like a fantasy come true!

Great Book! <3 I reccomend 100 times over.

Loved it! An emotional story!

Narrators Samantha Cook and Jacob Morgan did an absolutely amazing job bringing Shameless With Him by Carrie Ann Ryan to life for me. This is the third book in. her Less Than series, however, each can be read and/or listened as a standalone, and I highly recommend them. This time we get Caleb and Zoey’s story and it was emotional, angsty and steamy. Caleb and Zoey have known each other most of their lives. For most of the time, Zoey has had feelings for Caleb, but never admitted them. Instead she suffers silent as he goes from one woman to the next. But this time around she is determined to have him notice her.

Caleb had his reason for keeping away, but what will happen when he shares his reasoning? He was strong, determined but also caring. Zoey was determined to finally win over Caleb. Their chemistry was undeniable, but with so much in their way, could they find their way?

And I just loved the family and friendships in this book (and the previous one as well). This is something this author does well. Shameless With Him by Carrie Ann Ryan was heartbreaking and heartwarming and I could not stop listening too!

Happy listening!

Sweet friends to lovers romance. Great narrators!!

I love this series and I was so excited to finally be able to listen to Zoey and Caleb’s story! Theirs is a very sweet friends-to-lovers romance and with the way Zoey’s been pining after Caleb for so many years, it was wonderful to see her finally get her own chance at love with her dream guy. Zoey is a lovely heroine, very likable, the ultimate girl-next-door, though perhaps a bit too self-effacing when it comes to her sister and mother, and I’d have liked her even better if she’d stood up for herself more, however soft-spoken she might have done so. Caleb is a great guy, but he holds his cards very close to his chest, hiding in a way, from those who love him the most. I have to say I didn’t totally get Caleb’s reluctance to open up to Zoey about some of his worries and I’d have preferred it if more of the story had focused on him falling in love with Zoey, to better understand the why and when of it. His feelings came on a little too strong and sudden for me. At a certain point, Caleb messes up in a big way with regards to Zoey and that felt somewhat out of character to me. His connection with his siblings is amazing and he is not afraid to lean on them, I wish he’d have asked for their help for that particular issue too. Zoey and Caleb definitely have chemistry together and are lovable characters, seeing them interact with the other Carrs and the Montgomery clan was a lot of fun.

Narration: Samantha Cook and Jacob Morgan both did a stellar job narrating this story, as expected. They both have wonderful voices that are amazingly pleasing to listen to and match very well. I loved how they brought all these characters to life and how they gave all the characters their own unique voice. The pacing, the emotion,… it all flowed beautifully.
