Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Lisa Renee Jones returns with the second book in her electrifying series featuring Lilah Love, an FBI profiler who doesn’t fight her dark side - she embraces it.

It’s Lilah Love’s job to inhabit a killer’s mind. The unapologetically tough FBI profiler is very comfortable there. But her latest case is making her head spin. It’s a string of brutal assassinations carried out across the country, each tied to a mysterious tattoo. Body by body, she’s followed the clues all the way back to her hometown. And every step of the way, the killer has been following her.

Beneath the glamour of the privileged Hamptons community is a secret long buried but never forgotten. It’s bigger than Lilah. It’s powerful enough to escape the reach of the FBI. And it’s more personal than anyone can imagine. Because it’s hiding in Lilah’s own past. To fight it, she’s forced to turn to her lethally tempting ex, Kane Mendez. He’s an expert at bringing out Lilah’s darkest impulses. If she plans to survive, she’s going to need them.

This Audio version is a delight !

Ok! I had a truly tough time getting thru the print copy of this book! The Audible! Brilliant! It added life and charisma to the character!

I cannot wait to get the next books in this series! You will not be able to guess the killer and when you think Junior is gone.. they aren’t!

Language!

I'm not a profanity prude and don't mind using it myself. Occasionally. This Lilah drops the F-bomb in just about every sentence. She's unlikeable, is supposedly characterized as full of spunk, but she's just downright bitchy and unlikeable. She's a smart-a$$, doesn't like anybody or much of anything. I finished the first book and hoped the author read some reviews and maybe toned her language down a bit and made her a bit more likeable. But, no. If anything, it's worse.

I'm sending this one back and won't get any more of this series.

Decent story

Decent story, but beware - despite being a character trait, the profanity is unnecessarily over the top, n I'm no prude by any means. Both books end abruptly with no segue to the next. Still, I'm looking forward to the next one.

What…???

I seldom write reviews but this book was so bad…!!
It was a total waste of my time. I kept listening because I couldn’t imagine that anyone would have the audacity to write such a nothing book! None of the characters mattered and the eternal, circular ruminating/jabbering made me want to scream.

Liberally using the “f bomb” does not an author make. It’s just a good way to ruin it.

Your book is a good example of why there needs to be better descriptions of a story, including the tendency to rely on f bombs to fill in conversations. I don’t enjoy it, I don’t use it in my conversations, and none of my friends do either. So in my leisure hours I certainly do not enjoy listening to a barrage of it. What a perfect way to ruin what may be a good story. I don’t know because I couldn’t finish it.

Much better than book 1

This should be included with the first book. It is the rest of the story and much better ending with the story wrapped up the way it should be at the end of a book.
